I enjoyed it. Ne and a few friends have been playing on xbox live for nearly 15 years, we're old haha. We could all relate to that at some point, everyone of us doing it at some stage.

It was comical, a good bit of light hearted fun.

Lighten up guys, just see it for what it is. A trailer with a sense of humour.

yeah definitely better than the fairy tail stuff

best part was probably when lil wayne wen't afk and nomad was getting shot with lil wayne saying nomads iconic phrase

other than that the action was shot well even if it was pretty hollywood and not Representative of the game
It definitely helped it was obviously 4th wall tongue and cheek

honestly though coming off of the pretty shoddy marketing so far it's probably not what most were hoping for

This can be said of a lot of things on this game.

I don't mind lightheared marketing. On the other hand there should be some consistency between prodcut and marketing. I've not played the beta (and now certainly won't get the game before some massive sale event), but this trailer does not match neither the release nor the live action trailer they had. There are so many light hearted videos like the fairy tale ones that now as a costumer who has not spent too mcuh time with the game, I am getting the picture of an arcade/gta/looter shooter. Not seeing the name of the game I for certain would not have thought of Ghost Recon. And that is the real issue here.

Nobody is against Ubisoft creating such a game. I just don't see the point of tagging it Ghost Recon as it is antagonizing a lot of fans of the franchise with something that goes so hard against the grain of it. At the same time I don't see the new audience going to buy the previous games since they have nothing in common. So again, why tag it Ghost Recon? Why water down the IP for some easier short term marketing?

But yeah, I guess I am not really Ubisoft's audience at this point. After more than a decade of playing their games they convinced me pretty good to move on and not look back. Right now I am more interested from a business perspective how Breakpoint will be received and how Ubisoft will handle the current backlash from the core market than about the game. The game itself looks worse by the day to me.

No clue what audience they are shooting for, but dam maybe have a PR campaign involving Veterans playing the game not some Societal Criminal....

I recall a very similar TV advert from the first GRAW, where a group of players were seen in gameplay, but you could hear their voices. One was noisily eating crisps (chips to you NA guys) as they discussed random things unrelated to the game, before then settling in and getting focussed on the objective.

As then, the advert is aimed at the real life experience of playing the fantasy game, not the game experience of playing the fantasy "real life". Most adverts are aimed at the latter.

It will be interesting to see. I hope the game is a success, but one of the things I want to explore is a better way to accommodate the core Ghost Recon experience for those that want it. I'd like involvement from the community at an early enough stage to ensure the foundation of the gameplay design doesn't allow the essence of GR to be obscured if the player is looking for that. In this game that would have been a mode without gear scores and weapon numbers and all the features I don't even need to list as we all agree on practically all of them.
