Farcry4 doesn't start - "Unknown file with readfile()"

When I start Farcry4 it reaches the page where I have to press a button. When I do I get the following error: "Unknown file with readfile()". Pressing OK ends the game.

I played FarCry4 with this PC for years but since I reïnstalled Windows 10 this error comes up.

I tried reïnstalling, I tried starting up farcry4.exe as an administrator but this doens't work.

    Anyone any idea's?

Alternatively, create a new user account on your PC & start uplay & the game from there. If that works, the issue is related to your user profile, the game possibly can't find a correct file/folder in your "My Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4" folder.
