We don't hate you ubisoft we're passionate

There is a lot of anger and doom and gloom in these forums which I assume is from the gr vets the ones with hundreds of hours like me who are passionate and feel protective about their favourite game. I get it. But despite a couple of elements we are probably each heated over take a step back and look at the big picture. The game looks awesome. So much to be happy about. In addition we saw through wildlands how consistently they patched and how much content they produced. They do listen to player feedback we have to give them some time to digest it and respond. If I were to design a game it would be worse than pong. I was super butthurt about the gear score **** because it takes away from immersion and focuses on grinding. I'm not an mmo player. Which is why I play ghost recon. i can't reconcile those two elements in the same game. But I'll give the benefit of the doubt and be patient.

Not trying to be funny but let me start by saying this game is not a MMO. The hub is the most where you can see players. Can’t hurt them or anything. Outside the hub you will no longer see them which doesn’t make the game a massively multiplayer online game.

Loot is a concern by some but let’s be honest. Wildlands would be a dead open world if it didn’t have weapon/parts boxes, documents, Easter egg, and so on. Open worlds needs something to reduce repetition. I not a fan of weapon or gear levels but I know for a fact it’s not going to be stressful as TD.

Let’s be patient. We may just like this if we stop comparing to other games that abuse RPG elements.

I think there are those that wanted a close direct sequel to wildlands, you know say, a four man spec-op team - three you can control and issue commands with an updated intuitive set of orders and rules of engagement accompanied with military tactics, a gunsmith more resembling closely that in wildlands, the option to carry one asr and sidearm. A helo drop in a real world location such as maybe the borneo rainforest and carry out mission objectives, you know an ifil and exfil. Then a flight to another locale like germany with a winter snow setting, maybe a rescue mission or to infiltrate a comms station on the borders of a desert location, maybe iraq, take out sattelites, download data from computers, interrogation, take out a high value target, blow up a bridge, endless scenarios and many locales to recon, all weathers, all terrain, Ghosts. Swift. Silent. Invisible.

I'm not so sure that even if they are "listening", they could even take much notice. After nearly 40 years of gaming, I haven't been able to exert much influence over the direction of the industry. It's all geared towards addiction these days, like so many other products. Only nowadays the addiction is being milked to such a degree that games are losing immersion at the expense of income stream. This Beta has proven to me that my beloved Ubisoft are losing their flair a little by ignoring what truly made Wildlands epic and creating a Frankenstein Monster of a sequel that incorporates better money making mechanics. Their aim, much like missionaries, is to persuade the indigenous gaming population to tune into a different form of gameplay which makes them easier to exploit. I expect much of the herd will ultimately comply as they need their fix, but I dropped an enormous amount of money into Wildlands to get the gear I wanted ... and I'm not doing that all over again on a sequel that doesn't even come close to Wildlands. I'll wait until it changes and / or gets cheaper.

    Naw...

I hate you. Now get back in the and backwards compat all my Ghost Recons, Rainbow Sixes, Splinter Cells and I will forgive you. Oh and fix this mess. I don't know who created Breakpoint but they should be ashamed of themselves.

Just kidding, I only loathe you guys.

    "Don't hate the Developer...
    Hate the Game."

Seriously though, someone needs lashings on this one.
