[SIZE=3]I've never seen a company show such incompetence and indifference towards a game they made and its community.
I'd like to make an as quick as possible recap of For Honor's state, just to make sure I have it figured out for the most part at least. So, without further ado, let us get into it.
We have a game that offers a different experience depending on what platform it is played on, and this inevitably leads to some issues that are present on consoles (where the vast majority of FH's player base is) but not on PC. Now, apart from the fact that playing a fighting game based for a good part on reacting as fast as possible at 30 fps is just unacceptable in 2019 (as it was in 2017 when the game was released), to me it is very hard to understand why the devs accepted to release it in this state. Over time, I've seen and heard people from the community propose a variety of solutions to this problem, the most common being making a dedicate balance for console, separated from the one for PC. But, regrettably, not only did Ubisoft choose to throw a giant middle finger to the biggest portion of their player base, but they also decided to base their decisions relative to balance on the so-called competitive players' opinions. Now, we all know that as we go into higher levels of play, FH becomes a very different game from the average level, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion. What is a bad thing, though, is letting this minuscule part of the player base dictate what direction the game should take, since it's not the 1% of competitive players what keeps the game (barely) alive. Of course it would be wrong to go in the opposite direction as well, in fact I believe the best solution for everyone, or at least most of us, would be to try and find a middle ground between competitiveness and enjoyability. In addition to this, we've seen a standardization of reworked and released characters in an attempt to end the "turtle meta", the warrior's den live streams occurring less and less frequently, and the devs themselves becoming more and more silent about what their future plans for this game are (if there is any). Now, ever since the whole Watch Dogs debacle we all learned the hard way that it would be preferable to hire a notorious pedophile as a baby-sitter for our infant loved ones than having faith in the fact that Ubisoft will start listening to the community and change this game for the better, so I won't even bother saying that I hope for it to happen. This whole thing is just supposed to be the rant of a player who sincerely loves this game because of all of its qualities, but isn't apparently loved back by those who pull its strings. I just wanted to express my discouragement and disappointment, and a little bit of anger, about this company that sometimes comes up with interesting and fresh ideas, but every time manages to disastrously screw them up. Maybe a part of my subconcious hopes that someday a developer will see this thing I wrote, but till then, all i have to say is:

Wow!
Wow!
Wow!
