"Why not just play the game" - because I don't find the tracks particularily good; they're a combo of "Jolly jumper", "Unfair bombardment" and "Physics factory" - due to wanting to make the game appeal visually to people that never played a previous iteration...as if they could make a fan to a niche game from someone that just likes the visionaries. (it's like From Software dumbing down their games to make more people play them; you'll lose the core audience that pays your bill in an attempmt to get new players that won't love the game...)

I don't mind grinding a track due to some arbitrary gain (like beating the professor) but being foirced to do "X front flips while beating an irrelevant - to my reality/life - opponent" is not grinding I think of as fun, it's just forced and serves no purpose...especially as it's never happened before within the franchise, so why add itt n9ow?

I've never understood this sort of question....did you play the previous iterations? (skill was the only thing hindering you from progressing)

Apparently they did, I uninstalled the game months ago so I don't know TBH....and if they felt it was a good thing to change it, why wasn't it a part of the game upon release?

Really; "it didn't feel like a grind to you" - therefore it's not a problem? (I didn't mind that some kids were killed so it's not really a problem is it?)

You're ****ing better than that mate, you're not an idiot, you didn't mind but that doesn't mean there wasn't an issue, does it?

The thing is not how long it takes, the thing is that you're *FORCED* to do "X amount of front flips while winning" and such, the previous made sure you had the skills to play the next difficulties, like beating The Greater Crater to unlock extreme levels as...TBH, if you couldn't pass it you had no business trying extreme levels anyway...

Bloody hell Ubisoft, if I press "reply", maybe make it obvious as to state what I'm replying to...?)

I do agree that the contracts are uninventive and tedious. If they had approached contracts with the same creativity they used when making Fusions Track Challenges (maybe not the far fetched ones like hanging from a tree like a pinecone), more people wouldve pushed through them with less tedium. I will say though, that there are many avenues now to level up, and unlock stuff. MP awards heaps of XP, and i know several people whove only done a handful of contracts, but have all content unlocked. Im one of the few that have done all contracts, since im a completionist, but the joy of playing Trials far outweighs the contracts i had to play through to get here. Anyways, just my two cents.

You can hit "reply with quote" instead of "reply".

Trials Fusion had 3 challenges on each track. True, they were 100% optional, except for Achievements which some consider to be part of completing a game. In Rising you don't need to do very many of them to unlock all the content. I find it hard to believe that people can enjoy the game and the gameplay and also find zero enjoyment in *any* of the 400+ challenges.

I've had a good time in the new dlc doing some contracts. One was finish the track with broken front wheel, i.e. you must wheelie most of the time, with max 5 faults. That was a fun challenge which was also a skill test, and I eventually succeeded with 3 faults. Another was beat some track in 120 seconds while doing 10 backflips, which wasn't as easy as it sounded. Other contracts were beat this track with helium or donkey, which is usually free XP, and I'm fine with playing a track again with a different bike for the variety. I really liked the "no lean" contracts in the base game and maybe first dlc too, they're a good skill challenge, and previous Trials had Achievements for those, which again some would consider part of completing the game. You can ignore all of the "no lean" challenges here if you want to.

When I get new tracks as with the new dlc, I do 1 or 2 runs to get a Gold medal or better and 0 faults (Extremes will take me longer), then I do a couple of the contracts on it which helps with remembering the track layout too. Like I said earlier, I gained 25 levels in about 4 hours. Since you unlock a new league of tracks plus a new stadium on every x8 level, so 28, 38, 48, etc. up to 88 iirc, it really doesn't take that long. You could play MP instead of SP contracts if you prefer.

You say you never enjoyed the game, you aren't interested in anyone's suggestions to help you out, and you don't even have it installed, so why do you care about unlocking more of it quickly? It sounds like you're just here to troll.

People forget that Rising had almost twice as much content at launch as Fusion had, so even if it had the exact same unlock system, it would take nearly twice as long to unlock the final tracks. I have over 125 hours in Rising, you tell me why it makes such a massive difference whether I unlocked the final tracks at hour 15 or hour 10 or hour 5. Rhetorical, it doesn't.

Should they have done it differently? Yes, I already said so. Should they have changed it after launch feedback? Absolutely. Is it anywhere near as big a deal as complainers make it out to be? No, not at all.

I've played since Trials HD. I understand what you are saying, but I also didn't want a remake of the last game. Something new something fresh. Multiplayer is somewhat unplayable and the frame drops are getting more and more annoying, but the progression never bothered me. I agree with you some of the more gimmicky, less consistent objects being more focused on the more casual/visual based players. However, I enjoy the progression, contracts, skills games, and everything else that has come along with the game, but you don't HAVE to complete them. If you took the time to grind a track as long as you took to post, you'd be finished the progression that is so constantly talked about.
