Where is this official statment ?Originally Posted by SixAxe505 Go to original post
There are no reasons for him to be treated as a tank. His gameplay is a lot closer to the assassin or vanguard side.
Hes been my main for ages. When he first dropped he had better dodges and extra i frames on some attacks. He absolutely had assassin qualities. honestly hes kinda amix of all three BUT
The tank aspect only manifests in his perks and the full block
The assassin aspect is in regards to his speed (which is no longer comparatively all that speedy, but was at release) and better dodges. His out of lock double attack with i frames is still absolutely assassin like.
The vanguard aspect is mostly in regards to fast soft feints. but honestly vanguarde is the hardest of the roles to define.
He lacks viable bashes heavies typically have. He lacks viable dodges now that assassins have. He also lacks unblockables that heavy and vanguard kinda share. He has a hyper armor attack, but its slow and many vanguards have HA, and Berserker has a ton.
His health (120) is closer to assassin average. and his Stam is the lowest (but along with many others at 120)
In short.... He doesnt really have a defined roll, and other than assassins having reflex guard there is actually very little to define classes uniquely at this point. Which TBH makes me just think hes basically a vanguard atm with an infinite combo. (since vanguards are all rounders anyways)
I personally want his assassin aspect augmented with speed and better dodges (see my profiles rework threads final post for my still standing hope of what hed become) thats also mix up intensive. I really dont want to see him made more tanky cause: A) it makes no sense given his armor and weapon choice, and B) heavy meta right now bothers me haha
Screen cap it and show me why you think that.Originally Posted by SixAxe505 Go to original post
It is true in one of their warriors dens they once commented on him as a hybrid vanguard heavy.
The site on the other hand does not specifically lend itself to that interpretation and you saying it full force without providing any proof or relevant statement is basically meaningless
So I'll provide the full text of the official website and break down different parts (as i've said i see why both interpretations are valid, I've only said i like his assassin side better)
Official site
I read that as an assassin given the movement description as a cat.Samurai
ARAMUSHA
The Aramusha is a Samurai fallen from grace. They are not silent nor elegant but they move with the precision of a predatory cat and waste no movements. Their dual blades make short work of any who stand to them.
This suggests to me tank, but only by it's opposite comparison to shinobi and bodyguard statement (which fits vanguard too btw) Yet it still connects them to the same secret order.
The Aramusha and Shinobi are members of the same secret order though their roles are vastly different. Where the Shinobi are the silent assassin, the Aramusha are the brash enforcers or sometimes the bodyguards for the more powerful Samurai houses.
Above hardly helps either role define itself.
They once fought for an honorable cause but circumstances (betrayal, greed, ego) have pushed them to abandon their oaths. There is no air of mystery about them, they are simply elite warriors who wield dual katana with deadly grace. The Samurai have called on one of their most ruthless weapons and they are about to be unleashed on the battlefield.
Dodging and fast attacks says to me assassin.
FIGHTING STYLE
Aramushas use their blades for offense and defense. They can move very carefully or dodge very quickly on the battlefield. They capitalize on the mistakes of their opponents to unleash a never ending flow of fast attack in every direction.
Counter attacker and fast attacker..... says assassinDIFFICULTY: HARD
COUNTER ATTACKER
FAST ATTACKER
Infinite more common in assassins, but hito exists. Dodges More common in assassins, or vanguards (warden, tiandi) admit-tingly JJ (heavy) also has a very special dodge. but currently its an outright lie as his dodges are terrible. Special block is slightly connected to HeaviesSpecial Capabilities
INFINITE CHAINS
VERY GOOD SPECIAL BLOCK MOVE
VERY GOOD DODGES
And his armor? light. Assassin style generally.
ARAMUSHA
Meet the Aramusha of the Samurai faction in this For Honor gameplay video.

Customizable armor. Take a look at each of the three customizable sections of the Aramusha's armor.
So tell me again SixAxe505 why you think he is a heavy and not an assassin?
.................................................. ...........................I have been playing since release. AND BTW no they havent changed those blurbs about his character. And hey. You should know that.
Those blurbs are straight outta his release teaser trailer video.
And as I said. Yeah they called him Hybrid Heavy/Vanguard, but never in official documentation just in tweets and just in reference to his supposed playstyle... which it wasn't.
But heres a snippet from reddit a year ago.
"Technically vangaurd and heavy but we all know that was to make the people happy. It’s assassin and heavy
Lmao at Highlander being a "assassin / heavy"
More like Assassin and Assassin. The dude has ****-all to do with being a Heavy."
From the reddit at his release.
He was only labeled as that because the devs didnt want to upset people by releasing another assassin to samurai, especially while also releasing shaman. And shinobi in tow.
Ill say it again, I know for honor sent this tweet officially
"For Honor

The Aramusha is a Hybrid of Vanguard & Heavy, while the Shaman is an Assassin."
BUT Its very clear from his playstyle, and lack of hitpoints that he isn't anything close to a heavy.
Roles are so unclear in this game it's nearly meaningless.
I'll make my case again tho:
I'd like to see the dodgy part of his kit reinforced more than the heavier components because he already leans towards the fast style of an assassin and with roles more balanced now it makes more sense to define him more in line with an assassin.
So
Two more times SixAxe.
Tell me why YOU think he should be reinforced as a Heavy instead of assassin. You aren't talking to somenow who doesn't know the game. nor someone who can't see the other side (i've been pretty clear from the start that I was aware the words heavy vanguard were used to describe him)
But.... he has less HP than any vanguard, any heavy, any other heavy hybrid including highlander who is also technically a heavy assassin hybrid according to For honor twitter at release.
One more time.
Why do YOU want him to be a heavy? Do you even care about his identity or are you just being obstinate?

The official website doesnt say it, the data hub doesnt as well.
Vendelkin has a good Musha knowledge, probably more than i have myself and both of us have the same assassin feeling playing him.
The description on official website show Musha as an assassin hybrid.
He has a tri directional feintable dash attack, 400ms softfeint, his BB is instant and cant be hold, he doesnt have a big size nor armor or weapon.
Just look at LB and HL, these one are heavy hybrids.. anyone can see the difference with Musha.
