The first few times I was caught by the drone it was insta death, but then I started changing tactics and it became much more manageable.
Unless I was already in a situation conducive to avoiding detection, I used the time to find the best cover available and set what ever I needed to on my inventory wheel. While I feel the wolf’s that appear show up way too fast I was able to take them out more times then not when I started in cover.
Going forward the only times I tried to avoid detection was if I was near a building I could take cover in, or had Panther with the stealth perk and I could get camo cover. Both these seemed to reliably work.
Another tactic I didn’t get to try, but saw a video of it, is to take out the drone before it locks on.
