    Worried for Ghost Recon

Hey guys at Ubi and anyone else reading this,

Firstly, going into the beta and any beta for that matter, I keep that in the back of my mind. Its a beta and some things aren't going to work 100%. I believe its our responsibility to provide feedback and hope Ubi listens and makes the proper corrections. So.

After the first couple of main missions you have access to your drone. I used my skill points to max it out at the get go. The drone worked for me Friday night and that was it. The rest of the weekend the drone would not deploy even with the skill points and messing around with the button mapping in the menus. Logging in and out, killing GR Beta, and restarting the Xbox didnt fix it. Same could be said for my night and thermal vision. I had the skill points in the tree but the game was responding as if I didnt. Playing Ghost Recon with out the drone, night and thermal vision isn't Ghost Recon at all. But I just played through it chalking it up to the beta.

I had another incident where Nomad would not respond to ANY controls except the left and right sticks. No bringing up the sights, no shooting, to crouching, nothing. I restarted the beta to fix that. Again chalking it up to a beta.

These things are really annoying yes, but easily fixed by the time the game launches. These bugs arent whats worrying me though. The feel of the game as a whole is whats worrying me.

Just because these consoles and computers today CAN support aspects from every Ubisoft game doesnt mean they SHOULD. Ghost Recon has always been one, if not the Tom Clancy / Ubisoft staple. So, when i load up the Breakpoint beta and see Assassin's Creed style questing, the gathering and crafting of Far Cry, and the base of operations / looting of The Division im kind of dissapointed and ultimately let down. Im a huge fan of the Ghost Recon franchise as is everyone else playing the Beta. I for one, am just worried that the GR franchise will slowly lose its identity as the tactical shooter when you add all of these elements from the Ubisoft universe.

In my opinion and this is just an opinion, you take away from Ghost Recon with everything you add that doesn't need to be there. Social Hub? Why?
32 Ghosts fly in on helicopters and were decimated. Now there is a cave full of them. I don't care about people I don't know playing this game. Wildlands was perfect in that aspect. You played solo, here are some AI teammates. You played as a group, you invited your friends. There is absolutely NO need for a social hub in Ghost Recon. Not in Breakpoint, not ever.

Crafting AND loot system is a bit much. Pick one OR the other. Otherwise, again you are taking away from a Ghost Recon experience.

The menus of the game could be simplified as well. Break it up like Wildlands. One button brought you to the settings and one brought you the inventory etc. The menus feel a lot like Destiny 2's a while ago. A little unorganized and jumbled.

The way you equip items like grenades and C4 could use a little bit of a stream line too. I liked the ease of cycling through your items in Wildlands with left on the D-Pad but if you missed what you were going for you would have to cycle through all over again. Allow us to cycle in both directions and problem solved.

Now of course people are going ***** when a beta doesnt perform. Its a beta!...... we are supposed to break it and report back.... that what a beta is. What you probably dont hear a lot of is good feedback. A few things that I do like about this beta is the stealth options. Hiding in foilage and prone camo are awesome. Hiding bodies was a good addition too. The skill tree itself is nice. The classes and class challenges are good. I like these aspects because they fit in with the GR style.

Above everything else, just keep Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon. All these extra features that are here in the beta, I feel will ultimately lead you away from a true Ghost Recon experience because right now it feels like Far Cry with a hint of Division and Assassins Creed.

Oh and where the hell is my squad?

    Thanks all.

After playing the beta I had to cancelled my per-order between the multiple player having dual primary rifles scavenging items on the field shrinking clouds and now discovering the campaign has multiple levels of the same firearms from multiple crates it was kind of the final straw...it’s NOT a Ghost Recon game anymore witch it’s a shame due to the fact A 3rd of the game is phenomenal and truly has Ghost bones within the game between dedicated servers navigating through the environment character customization gunsmith I very much enjoy the new movement of the characters when it comes to going prone diving and tac-rolls and sliding down hills. That being said Ubisoft if you would like to hear some FREE productive constructive Open minded criticism to make your game GREAT AGAIN AKA make that money feel free to message me! I’ve played MOST of your Ghost Recon games I’ve played at the heights level on the competitive side and had invested many hours in the Wildlands campaign.

Personally I like it and I think it has a crap ton of potential. But I'm going to be crazy pissed off if it's not better optimized for PC at launch. Or if they never optimized it similar to the last assassin's Creed. I hate a game that I can't get to run at 60fps by lowering the settings.
I will seriously be done with ubi if they don't address it. PC has been a step child...let's not do that.

After playing countless betas from many different games so close to launch, I've come to learn that typically what we see in the beta is what we will see in the forthcoming launch. This game is in no shape or form ready for launch. There's far too many issues in the beta client to be ready for launch in just a couple short weeks. The forums are blowing up with people all sharing the same concerns, the same issues that have been talked about for months and guess what? Nothing has changed in those months they've had to update things. So, it's safe to say that they're not changing course. Also, Itemization is apart of the core mechanic of this Ghost Recon and don't expect it to change. It's too far buried within the core of the game for them to change. They already have DLC that they keep talking about(Raids) for loot. So, that should tell everyone what to expect from here on out.

I can deal with itemization(simply because they want to try something new even if it fails, they have to try so I can't blame them for trying).. what I can't deal with is A - A lack of communication(It's quite staggering to say the least) on their part with so many threads/discussions/topics about concerns players have, and B - The shear amount of bugs, mechanical issues, animation problems(I am highly highly shocked with the poor quality of animations in this game after what we've come to have in prior Tom Clancy titles), the horrible horrible optimizations and performance within the game with such little time left before launch. I have received my refund so I will not be playing it at launch but I will continue to follow the game post launch to see what sort of changes, if any, are made.

It really is a shame. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a title and than quickly changed to not purchasing the game as I have with this title. I love Ghost Recon as a series but I can't get behind what we have here. Far far too many problems right now. Now, if they decided to push back the games release some(which I doubt they would) to work on some of the issues, then I would respect that and potentially purchase it depending on what's done overall.

no need to worry, last real GR was released in 2001, everything that followed is just a parody with the name attached to it

EL Wildlands even with its flaws was a better Ghost Recon than any of the other on rails (might as well be Time Crisis) Ghost Recons before it.

This one fails because of the looter shooter game play and Hollywood movie writing.

Mark my words. I was there to see the devs kill SOCOM.

    I agree

I completely agree. this is more the DIvision than GHost recon. It was written some where that the developers didnt like the fact that player only use one weapon in Wildlands. Well tough titty. THats real life. If there is one weapon someone likes they are going to stick with it.. I knw for sure that my group that played wildlands each used different weapons. SO if thats not enough diversity i dont know what more you could ask for.

UBisoft you better listen!! you are on the verge of losing players.. you have completely gone to deep end.. lose the loot system. lose the social aspect lose the gear score system We want wildlands in a new map with more interesting bad guys and and some improvement on squad based tactics.

This needs a lot of work. I wish i had the time to tell you what you need to do . especially so close to release

The loot system in caked into the core of the game. I wouldn't expect it to change unless they pushed the game back awhile to rework the whole system but that's not happening since they keep saying the release date is Oct. 4th. Hypothetically, if they did push it back I sure as **** would wish they would rework the animations too. I can't stand just how bad the character animations are. Looking at my character sprint with his upper torso swaying back an forth a hundred miles an hour is not a good time.

God dang I miss SOCOM. So many good times with that game it still brings a smile to my face when I think about it.
