They made a ton of money and those that didn't participate in wow I feel bad for you maybe your parents didn't care about buying games that you were interested in or maybe you were obsessed with never paying for anything but if you didn't get to participate in the wow experience well oh well it was fun nothing last forever and again nothing is free nor should it be. Wow lasted very long and of course its dead or dying now just like this game wont last forever either. I put it this way those that have money right now and paid for legendary cards and got to be at the top ranks of this game they are experiencing a different fun then all the f2p players. By the time all the hardcore f2p players reach the top this game will most likely be dead and don't worry about what else at that point because they'll probably be gone. The point is a lot of video game companies realize that nothing lasts forever and milk it while you can because people will pay and it depends on how you look at it. You can say somebody that rents movies is wasting their money or somebody that put gasoline in their cars as opposed to electricity. A really good example of air conditioning we don't have to have air conditioning our grandparents didn't have air conditioning but we choose to have it it's a luxury so if you think you're going to change the way companies make money you're not.
My point is not that the sub killed wow. My point is that bad game design kills games. I am a rank 14 / duelist PvP player in WoW. The game is dying because the last three expansions have been full of bad design decisions.

The reason this relates to Sppd is because catering to p2p players by making legendaries overpowered will reduce overall participation and eventually it will kill the game just like butchering class design to simplify the game is killing wow. Obviously there’s a strategic decision here with regard to revenue (milk the whales or try to appeal to the broader player base to buy things like the cash needed for battle pass) but there is absolutely no question not to quit if people feel that they’re hard capped at 7500 rank because they don’t want to spend a ridiculous sum of $$$ to compete with whales.

I’ve achieved 7500 the last two seasons and you absolutely start running into adventure + mystic legendary spam decks almost every game. All of the top players in my clan (a few top 100 players) are running 4-6 legendaries as adventure+mystic (except one guy running mystic/fantasy, also spamming legendaries). That’s what the top of the ladder looks like and it’s disheartening for those of us not willing to spend hundreds of dollars as is commonplace among the whales.

Scotold, you concede the principle in your post. Your Incan and wdt are level 2, otherwise you would be using them. That’s the entire point of this post. If you are lucky enough or spend enough you will always use the available competitively leveled legendaries over other cards. Period.
