One-shot kill in stealth... gone (which is good)

I always thought it was stupid that you could one shot kill an enemy in stealth by shooting them anywhere on the body. On the contrary, I always believed that should be like setting off an alarm as someone shot in a vest or limb is going to make a lot of noise.

I’m happy to see that mechanic gone. You now need to head-shot enemies or finish them quickly to maintain stealth.

Now, if you’re a Wildlands veteran, this may take some adjusting. I learned the hard way.

I can no longer just lazily pick off snipers from outside the perimiter using an AR. Especially with the silly bullet drop. It’s extremely risky trying to get head shots from 200m plus with a 2.5x optic on an AR.

It makes DMR and SNR rifles more relevant or requires you to circle the perimeter first to take out the snipers... no more lazy shots across the outpost from 400m with an AR.

The Devs have said that they are using real world muzzle velocities and even with the artificial reduction penalty from a suppressor I have noticed much less drop. Are you sure it's worse?

It is a good change though.

With my preferred rifle, the MK17 SCAR-H, the bullet drop is still greatly exaggerated. I’d say it’s similar to Wildlands. Although the muzzle velocity with a Suppressor is much better. So they may have improved velocities but at least with the MK17, bulletin drop still feels like paint ball. I haven’t spent much time with sniper rifles... my brief stint with the Barret 50-cal was not impressive though. I shot a sniper and it hit him somewhere in the body annoying him.

I would actually say the Headshot meta favours automatic weapons because the fire rate, especially the closer you get to your target but i like to have a new meta.
