Removing Gear Score and Weapon Tiers

I don't know about any of the other Ghost Vets but this "RPG element" needs to go. This is Ghost Recon not the Division which I like both titles but prefer them separately. Playing this open beta there are a lot of things that I enjoy from the new movement, to the classes introduced but one thing I do not approve of is the insert of gear score and weapon tiers. This is not what alot of us wanted and to have it forced is unacceptable. You say you want players to try out different weapons but guess what people have preferences and if they want to try out something then they will. You call this an RPG element yet there is nothing RGP about gear score and weapon tiers. If I'm going to Role Platy then I want to use a specific gear and a specific weapon and with the introduction of your classes it puts more into the RPG aspect. Making a decision that will impact the game story is RPG, choosing a uniform to match your surroundings to give you a better stealth advantage is an RPG element. From eating, drinking, all the things in the bivuoac is an RPG where I role play with my surroundings and the games story not collect gear score or weapons tiers. What we had in Wildlands where we had to collect the weapons and parts is not the same as grinding for in Hope's of the same weapon but with a better gear score. We have a Ghost OP in enemy territory with limited resources and he needs to increase his arsenal with weapons and attachments to take on the next challenge. Not rummage around for a the same weapon but with a tier on it. No where does that give the tactical realism that players enjoyed in Wildlands. I didn't spend 100s of hours of playing Wildlands because of grinding for loot those hours were put in because of how much I emersed myself with the world that was created and the tactical play that was given to me. Now I'm sure some will say " you can still down an enemy with a headshot, even the heavy enemies can die from a single headshot." That's great good, but what happens when you don't hit them in the head and you have to put 8 to10shots in their torso to kill them while trying to fend off from approaching enemies. Then that's where things change and you can't use that excuse. You may be alone against all odds but you're all human and body armor can only do so much. If they are not the the heavies then guess what they should go down in 3 to 5 shots. Then we have the Wolves who with the high end technology and massive numbers should make them a threat not because they have a gear score that you have to grind and play catch up with. This gear score/weapon tiers should have not been implemented into the game in where it's roots like in that tactical realism not a looter shooter. You have a game where that is and that's where I prefer it. Keep Ghost Recon as what it has been and like I said there are alot of improvements and changes that I extremely enjoy but the gear score and weapon tier needs to be removed. For that is not a Role Playing Game (RPG) element.

couldn"t agree more... if I want a looter shooter there are plenty of them out there. BP needs to follow up on the systems that made Wildlands a success, maybe improve them a bit, not totally remove them and make this game in The Division 2.5

This has been for a long time and is the current topic of many discussions, flick back as many pages as you like here and checkout the beta forums, I think there are even some polls/petitions, ha.

    It's a never-ending request.

Ive yet to see what the maximum gear or level score is. To be honest I didn’t like this element of the game and is a very real reason I became tired with both editions of the division. Having to level up again and again was just a chore. To be able to just dive into an open world was a fantastic feature of wild lands. I’m aware we have to work and explore to do this but putting some crappy loot driven score system behind it is a bad choice and it doesn’t as you claim “deepen” the player experience. I served 17 years in two branches of the military and a gun is a gun. It’s ballistic properties change with ammunition and user based skill and accessories. Having to level it up when your already a claimed special operations solider is stupid. I’m aware that this is a beta and a work in progress but I’m finding so many bugs at the moment from reloading to healing its hard to enjoy what this has to offer anyway. And I spent almost 1500 hrs as a rotary wing medic on 9 different frame types and I say from very real experiences that the current helicopter simulation mode is absolutely childish and unrealistic. I hope the two options are available in the full release game as they are in wild lands. I completed wildlands in its entirety and really enjoyed it. The extra attention to detail as far as gear and weapons is a good step but don’t ruin it with a system that has led to other Ubisoft games losing chunks of its player base.

I agree aswell on most of what u Guys said!

    Gear Score sucks!
    Duplicates Suck
    Bulletsponges Suck

    Weapon Tier SUCK

    Good one

Mk:.. on Weapons i like that. Its a different version of Skillpoints to make u reaload faster etc. But it needs to stay in certain Parameter. I dont like to have the same Gun with 100 oif different Buffs like you Guys.

Let us be able to choose which Buffs we want on what Gun. At least the Passicve ones from which u can have 3.
I like it that u get more range mobility etc if u have Mk2 for example and you have to upgrade that.

I wanna see Raids however. Big Missions for a whole Squad to take down Enemies and get nice new Weapons or special Variants. That needs to stay!
but you can do it without Gear Score im sure!
On Drones its totally different. I see the Point in making us shoot them buggers with 4 people. Soldiers however unless they have Juggernaut Armor style not so much!

    Absolutely Agree

Let's keep this more in line with OG Ghost Recon/R6.

Yep, not a fan. I love certain weapons and want to only use said weapons.. having to ditch them all the time for a higher number version is not my idea of fun. GRW did this much better, and the missing gun smith elements are also a let down (Barrel lengths)

other things I want to add is the skill set up, the thing is that you can equip 3 of the skills, however u can change it during the combat, so there is no reason just to cap it at 3. I hope we get like wildland skill, which u can have all of them, once you have unlocked. although some of the skill gives better survival abilities. and could lower the effect in order to balance it out.

Hey i got a solution which is most definetly the best Option!
I dont digg that crappy Randomizing of Stats. It makes us all frustrated and Angry. It doesnt need to be however!
Randomized stats can go back to Division and Borderlands!

    Solution

    PLAYERS CHOICE of STATS
    PLAYERS CHOICE of STATS
    PLAYERS CHOICE of STATS

    NOOO,
we dont want randomized stats, so we have(NEED) the same Gun 300 times! That needs to stop ASAP

With this, Ubisoft can have their way, for what some Poor Developers worked their Arses of the last years and we get ours!

    WE CHOOSE

    Tier Buffs
Mk. Buffs Passive (the 3 in Dot form in the Menu)

the Upgrades from each Mk. is as far as i know not randomized it hopefully is balanced sinced there needs to be some balance from the Devs on some Weapons. i mean the Upgrades per Mk. Level not the Passive 3 ones. These Upgrades should ALWAYS be the same for every Player
    OR
    Players Choice

Weapon Variants of the same Type like here
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RexqN6Xpw4&t=81s

is totally fine in my opinion and it makes sense of course!

    Why Players Choice?!
Operator can choose their "Stats" aswell. They put on their Weapons what they like and want, so NO RANDOMIZING. They know what they get
u want more Mobility, okay, shorter barrel, and a Grip, smaller Scope maybe aswell

    Fell free to comment!

Some of my Suggestion hope you like aswell

Problem with the ghost franchise the original one is the niche market it served, people these days like these type of looter shooters and the rpg element of mixing specialties and they can reach a larger group of people and it is a walk away safe game if people need to check on something they do not lose hours of gameplay.

I have a lot of games i wish they kept it how i preferred the games with the sequels and such but majority rule is the way the wind blows when it comes to games and such, and we can start looking for a good substitute for our favorite games or we can try and see the positive aspects of what the game brings, me i look at it as something to play in coop with mates going the realism route or as real as you can get with a Ubisoft game, and we did sync shots with a countdown and such just to make it fun, i loved the original rainbow six series with making tactics for breaching and entry and now we have these ehh things that seem to be entertaining to the newer crowds.
