How do I use the sync shot drone. I can’t work it out.

Yes, it works. You select it in your loadout to use. Like the frag grenade. Then, you use your weapon and point it at the bad guy, hit the G key. Nomad will then launch a sync shot drone. You will also notice the emblem over the target's head change shape. You then select the target you want to kill, and fire.

I've had to sometimes select and hit G several times.

The tips say that you select with G and execute with G. I haven't tried executing with G.
