Those were Gen2 NODs manufactured in the mid-90s, and that was over ten years ago. We're up to Gen4 now in our Tier One SOF units. I've seen footage of what those look like, and it's nearly true color.
Lucky you, the sets the rqms issued us were just like bp, I guess we all have different experiences with them

The game graphics are too washed out and don't have enough contrast. The developers must have got an old cheap set off ebay and based their tier one operator NVG's off of that.

I remember when I was in Iraq back during the Spring Fighting of '08, and a JAM fighter we killed near Sadr City dropped a purple M4A1 for me. It was so much better than the common tier M4 I had been using up to that point. Instantly improved my reload speed and reduced the cooldown time on my needle chest decompression class technique. Still took 10+ body shots to kill the occasional Chechens and IRGC guys though. Some of them had higher gear scores than I did, so that makes sense.
this was so true and now i am enlightened

Agreed, with HDR on it's downright awful, it's not as overexposed when off but a bit sad you have to either turn it off or just not use night vision

I gotta say that it doesnt matter, imo, how realistic it is. It's supposed to fulfil a gameplay functionality and that is to see better in the dark, and it doesnt fulfil its purpose well.
    End. Of. Story.
