Helicopter Flying - Bring back the classic controls

Helicopter flying doesn't feel good as much as before. Please bring back the classic control option back.

    PLEASE!

It’s functional but so boring to fly now..

Plus you can’t invert the pitch, if you do it inverts the right stick BUT switches the left stick so up is back and down is forward!

The reason why the classic controls felt good was due to the physics being better. The "new" controls were essentially a fix to address the many complaints people had over the lack of controls on the helos and planes.

Ubi has never been good at vehicle controls or even modeling physics that feel natural in their games. When they added the new mapping, they completely threw out the unusually cool physics they had with the classic controls. The helos felt like flying drones after that and I've said it many times before, I still suspect they use the code for the drones in GRW to help with the new controls when they updated them.

The thing is, here we are with a brand new game and the same "new" controls from GRW. I will say they feel a bit different but far from the natural movement, transitions, etc. with the classic. Those helos feel like they had mass and you could feel it in the momentum, shifts in weight through various transitions, etc. When folks like me asked for new controls, we didn't think they would completely dumb down the physics. .....and that is how the helos in GRB now feel as well.

The funny thing is, I'm not so much irked about the copy and paste from GRW regarding the helos. I only wished they did the same to the ground vehicles because while GRW was nothing to write home about in this regard, GRB is absolutely horrendous by comparison.

honestly didn't think the ground vehicles were worse, Kean. Apart from the audio, which is odd for a lot of vehicles, I found them to be the same as Wildlands, and there were even some features I thought were better.

Trails bikes didn't feel so twitchy to me and were easier to move.
Terrain seemed to effect the speed, slowing down when going uphill. Note: could be my imagination I didn't check for sure
The camera has lost that wild, re-centre thing it did when finishing reversing.

Two things I notice about the helo controls (in wildlands cos I got to play that the most so far & just went with the "new" controls in breakpoint)
For me at least, using mouse & keyboard to fly: Classic: Better for maneuverability in avoiding SAM's fired at you but terrible for trying to shoot anything cos you're not aiming with the mouse.
New: Better for firing on Ground & Air enemies with minute adjustments of the mouse, much easier to aim with a mouse than WSAD positioning the helo. Helo controls really need some works I think, remember when other games helos were awesome to fly like in battlefield 2 & other such games, those were the days.

People I think if I recollect complained that it was impossible to shoot with the helos weapons (rockets or minI guns) with the classic Controls, hence the need for the ‘new’... with the aiming reticle.

But the new controls, as with Wildlands, we’re functional yes, but zapped all the fun out of flying in my opinion.

Why this wasn’t just included as an option is baffling.

I’m finding we are now having to (waste time) asking for things that were either already in Wildlands or later added to it. Much like HUD options, being able to turn off the mini map or enemy clouds, or being able to holster your weapon, or move whilst prone (shuffling backward, strafe left or right) etc....

As with the ground vehicles in Breakpoint — all the vehicles feel heavier which is far better.
However when accelerating, most vehicles still feel like they are stuck in second gear, as it was in Wildlands.

And the dirt bikes, which are the only ground vehicle in Wildlands I genuinely enjoyed driving, are now awful!
They are now twitchy, hard to control, they don’t seem to roll with momentum anymore when off the accelerator, but often come to an abrupt stop.
The break too is way too aggressive bringing the bike to a unnatural stop, and it’s now nigh impossible to power slide. Rubbish!

Gutted about the bikes too be honest.

Although the new ‘super’ futuristic bikes are kinda fun...

This. I mean i don't think i'll ever get the game after the beta but i've said since i saw gameplay months ago the helicopter controls/physics look so bad & unrealistic.

The original controls & physics from Wildlands were perfect. It looked & felt realistic. I don't know why people said it was difficult, it couldn't have been easier.

Now it's like flying on a wire, in hover it's like someone's holding it in place with no slight movement or bobbing. In moving flight it's the same, unrealistically stable & simple.

The original helicopter flying in Wildlands felt so enjoyable & fun before they changed it & copy/pasted it into this.

This is a video of a walkthrough I did for Wildlands... at the end I fly the HVT in a helo.... look at how I can weave over the landscape... it was a lot of fun...

You can’t do a single bit of that in Breakpoint........
