Trials Rising career progress is still grindy and how to fix it

So I decided to play Trials Rising on a different profile and start over from the beginning and I just noticed that the game is still grindy once you get to the American Trials League medium tracks to unlock the Stadium Finals. You still have to be Level 58 to unlock the Stadium Finals on the the American Trials League which is annoying.

Yeah I know you have to do contracts but I don't like going to tracks I have already played to do contracts to unlock the next Stadium Finals. So can you please lower down the level requirement to unlock the next Stadium Levels or complete the available tracks on the event you are on to unlock the next Stadium Finals because that would be much easier.

So could you do this on a patch or a update or something because that will make the game and progress much easier. Thanks !

The only improvements they offered for the grind are multiplayer XP and unlocking via A+ ratings in TrialsU.

Tyrian, I'm not suggesting you are wrong about the Trials Uni progression, but afaik you are the only person I've ever seen talking about it. Are you 100% sure it's in? Have you tested it yourself? It seems like almost nobody knows about it, and I think you also mentioned the game never tells you about it.

Lowering the level unlock requirements by 10 levels say, is such an obvious common sense solution that would probably only take 5 minutes to implement, and a bit more time to ensure people currently between the old and new levels still get their unlocks, that it should have been done within a week of launch. Instead, they showed they are willing to accept the negative publicity forever. It's such a wasted opportunity.

Pretty sure he is correct about the U of Trials part. They had talked about it in a stream way back, might have even been in a patch note, cant remember for sure though.

That's the source I remember it being from, and my recollection is that it was something they were doing or going to do, but I haven't seen it in any patch notes. They are presumably all in the News and Announcements forum. I just now searched 5 of them for "univ" and there was only one reference to it, and it wasn't about this.

The patch notes are always unhelpfully incomplete, so it not being there wasn't taken as betrayal of what they told us would be in for the improved progression. I thought someone had said they used it, and it seemed from my partner playing (they started after that patch) like there were leagues appearing outside the level unlocks/finals progression, so we thought the TrialsU unlocks were working, just with no added "this happened" messages (low effort is the way of Rising, after all). Sadly, we didn't come at the new feature with appropriate hostility and carefully test what happened on A+s, and my partner is more in the early-Hard level of skill and likes doing some contracts, so leveling overtook A+s after the early TrialsU levels--when they even play, which isn't much since the game never works quite right on their system (same as my system) and the only change was getting worse in one of the Summer updates...

Maybe someone on console can make a new profile and test it out? Someone from Ubisoft could check and answer? I've mentioned the TrialsU unlocks right to UbiKeeba on reddit and they didn't say it wasn't a thing, though of course we can't assume they would know or bother to say anything if it wasn't. I've asked whether A+s also unlocked the Mantis before, but of course Ubisoft people never respond when we actually need information.

I agree that lowering the level numbers would have been a massively better solution. I think halving them was about right, since it always seemed like after doing new content I was about halfway to unlocking more, and it was all overtly annoying contract grinding from there. Maybe the targets were set with multiplayer XP in mind, even though we didn't have multiplayer for a while, and certainly getting multiplayer matches to happen still isn't exactly common on PC.

EDIT: See this reddit post, where MrDrPink says it is in fact supposed to be a feature. They gave absolutely zero useful information, but it is supposed to be a thing.

So it turns out they did nothing at all about this? Wow. I can't say I'm surprised. It's really disheartening to see the response this game got at launch despite having a ton of good content, and they've made no effort whatsoever to turn around that perception. We've all discussed various easy things they could do to improve the experience for new players, and they just don't care. It's very sad.

Tyrian, reading that post you linked, that totally reads to me that beating a regular track gets you X amount of XP and beating a University event with an A+ gets you Y amount of XP, and Y > X. That's all it says to me. That's not what you were asking, so it looks a bit disingenuous.

I can see how you get that reading, but I think it's just a poorly done, typically low-information minimal-effort response. Writing it to mean that would be willfully--no spitefully--misleading. You might be right, but jeez, I hope not.
