Game won't launch: Cannot find specified device, path or file

    Hi,
The game fails to launch for me, throwing an exception after BattleEye Launcyher starts and says "Launching game...":
I get a dialog box that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item".

I tried to verify the file and also re-downloaded and installed the beta to no avail.

    I am running Windows Insider.
    Any hint?
    thx,

Sorry to say that wy you cant play. Battleye is seeing a test version of windows as hack and blocks you out. I have the same problem.

All you get of help is reinstall windows. even to battleye developers are using an old version."battleye It needs an update. Microsoft has sent out to cheat engine developers a fix.

so even to Ubisoft says reinstall windows. this is on Ubisoft since they have decided to work whit battleeye as a fix is on battleye developers side.

Just look here Its a black hole of new troubles Ubisoft puts there new game in to https://www.battleye.com/support/faq/

    thx,
what a "gold standard" BattleEye is.. lol.
I won't resintall Windows just to play this game.. and Windows Insider is not a hack but a legit continuous Windows build source. Let's hope this is fixed by the time it launches or I suspect I won't be the only one skipping the game for logistical reasons :\

And I then have to inform you that this problem is on Battleye Lasy developers using an Older version of there engine. as below is a statement From Windows developers at Microsoft.

    From windows developers.

There has been an issue with older versions of anti-cheat software used with games where after updating to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds may cause PCs to experience crashes. We are working with partners on getting their software updated with a fix, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this issue. To minimize the chance of running into this issue, please make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat and game developers to resolve similar issues that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview builds and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.

    Running GRB.exe, GRB_BE.exe, GRB_UPP.exe, BEService_x64.exe, UPlay.exe, UPlayService.exe in Windows 7 compatibility mode does not change the situation.
I hope somebody from Ubi can bubble this up to the right people and address the issue.
    thx
