Confusion: From a die hard Ghost Recon fan.

So...a bit of context. I am an avid fan of military shooters. To the point where I am forgiving almost to a fault for games with bad graphics/mechanics just because I enjoy the genre, so it pains me to say that I am actually STRUGGLING to enjoy breakpoint.

The biggest, most concerning issue, is that ghost recon breakpoint struggles/straight up fails in areas that previous games ALREADY GOT RIGHT. Let me explain.

    1. Shooting. This is a military shooter. Even if the rest of the mechanics don’t fall through, this should be your bread and butter, the focus point of the gameplay. Sound design is terrible. I had to double check and make sure I didn’t have a suppressor equipped on my weapon because the sound was so bad. Recoil is non existent. The weapons don’t feel good to fire, they sound like airsoft guns. The bullet hoes made when shooting environmental objects are the same for a pistol as they are for a .50 cal. They just sound and feel BAD. (Try staying still and just holding the trigger down on an LG...)

    2. Movement. Clunky mess. In an attempt to add “weight” to your character, you end up in awkward situations, walking passed objects you mean to investigate, getting into the wrong doors on vehicles, and just plain falling over. The animation for walking is even awkward. It does not look good at all. It’s not even that the character feels weightier, like say red dead for example, where arthur would fall or bump into things due to how the psychics worked in game. This feels simply clunky to control.

    3. Interface. As with the movement, confusing and clunky. I found myself struggling to navigate the menu, and didn’t really understand the pinging system and how my quests were working. It was really a mess to try and navigate. This one could be a bit of a nitpick, but it was annoying none the less.

All in all I’m really just confused. This game seems like a huge step back...all of the mechanics mentioned have been done better in previous Ubisoft games. Guns felt and sounded great in Divison, wildlands, and seige, how the hell did you revert in your LATEST game? Literally a Wildlands 2 reskin with slight changes would have been a step up from this. I honestly don’t know who this game was for. Wildlands was great because it embraced its semi-arcade feel. Don’t get me wrong there were issues, but they didn’t hamper my enjoyment because the core mechanics were solid. This is a mess man. I’m really disappointed and confused. Tiered loot aside, this is just not a good shooter, yet alone a Ghost Recon.
