    Thoughts on Beta.....

    Well, I played this morning on PS4 and here is what I think:

    1) Movement is fubar, it's like slogging through the mud.
    2) Crawling, so slow, the snails passed my up. Why can't we crawl BACKWARDS?
    3) Character customizing SUCKS....Rip off of the DIV2? Way to few, almost carbon copies of each other...
    4) Clothing/Skinning, really, rinse/repeat junky gear. This is a world of drones and what not. Why don't we have super cool looking techy armors to use, and high tech clothing??
    5) CQC animations are way to slow...Stab a guy in the chest, flip him on the ground and slice his neck....Stab to the chest is enough to kill him...what's with the OVERKILL??
    6) Drones....wtf!?....fly over and insta death, no matter if you use Panther Spray, and suck dirt. IT always see's you....
    7) Sniper rifles.....OMG, using it sucks.....Shooting past 150 m gets massive bullet drop...REALLY??!! It's a sniper rifle that should be zero'd to 600m. I shouldn't be getting bullet drop until then....
    8) Can't climb worth a squat...
    9) Fall down way to much...stupid stamina is always gone, no matter what you're doing...
    10) You have to have unlimited patience for stealth play, as there isn't enough cover, NPC's are always in a group, and rarely split up. So what? I'm have to skip every encounter so I can play STEALTH??
    11) Drone, most times I had to double/triple click the pad direction to even get it out
    12) WHY OH WHY do I have to keep entering inventory to swap out food, grenades, active skills??? Breaks immersion. Find a better way, or get rid of 95% of the crap in our inventory, as it will be unused anyway
    13) Why can I not put up more than 3 "PINS/QUESTS" at a time??? Since the stuff doesn't show on map until you pin it, htf are you supposed to know if you're standing on a quest/item/collectible??? Keep changing PINS??? Rather annoying....
    14) Zone levels need to be better marked. I didn't realize I was in a Lv40 Zone as a Level 2 while exploring until I targeted a mob....
    15) Graphics look like I've been drinking a 12 pack or a full fifth of whiskey.....Going to fix that???
    16) Why do I only get to choose one class? I want to get bonuses from 2 of them, but so far, I haven't figure out how to do that....Better tutorial needed....
    17) Perks?? Why only 3 when there are over 3 dozen of them??? Kind of sucks when you want more than just 3...
    18) Way to few passive skills....we are GHOSTS, elite of the elite, we should be able to have knowledge up front, not have to earn it all...
    19) Way to few active skills, hence the over flowing wheel of inventory since most end up as a CONSUMABLE....needs to be fixed
    20) Character interactions/dialogue is so flat, I skip it all....it's like some robot talking....fix it.....
    21) WTF is with all the stupid gear?? One weapon, and upgrade it. The way you have it now, upgrading is useless until you reach max level and find the weapon you want to use, and upgrade it. Since each and every weapon has upgrades, you're wasting time/items needed before end game to do this....Rather dumb IMO.

    As it stands, this is the short list until I play more, which is unlikely. I will also, not be buying this game, nor will I recommend it to anyone. This game went 10 yrs backwards, added way to much BS, and ruined what Ghost Recon stood for.

    This is a clone of DIV2 with a different skin on it....

    I don't need another...

    Shoots a human AI with no armor with a 50cal berret sniper and the AI shrugs it off. Enuf said.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Not another shopping mall!!!! I agree @CptCombatGamer
    As soon as I saw the shopping mall in the cave my heart sank. Not another Anthem "fort tarsis" or that crap like in DIV2.
    Going to those places just kills the experience for me and derails what I loved about wildlands: jump in, pick a mission, level up, pick a weapon, stealth or guns blazing, both hours of fun!

    Yes, it's a beta. But it looks like Anthem/DIV2 and that does not bode well.... Yet another franchise following the pack in the wrong direction. Just give us a better, juiced up wildlands... not a DIV2 clone. So sad.

    Pre order has been cancelled, and beta removed from my PS4 system!

    This beta, with only 1 month to polish/fix the problems.....

    Not going to happen.

    I will find something else to play.

    What a disappointment this was!

    RIP Ghost Recon!

    Hubs are certainly superfluous for this game. Helicopters take off too fast. Poor walk animation. Opponents do not see a seated character 6-10 meters away. The settings menu does not display half of the settings (rus). Again a game with lighting from the house to the street at dusk. The character literally glides through the mud when moving. In a squat, even in walking mode, he walks and stomps too quickly. From a bird's eye view, everything turns into a blurred picture. You can’t stay lying on your back waiting for opponents. That's all for now.

    well either this is earlier build or they gonna drop huge day one patch .. there is nothing else they can do 1 month before release with certification, distribution, etc ... final build is made 1-3 months ahead of release ..

    More to list:

    22) Constantly falling down the smallest hill
    23) Running on FLAT ground and start sliding like you're on a hill
    24) One farm, climbing the silo, fell through the wall, died on impact....Box/Crate unreachable
    25) Helicopter DOWN movement is so minimal you can be shot out of the air instantly
    26) BUMP into anything and the shoulder swap kicks in....fix it...it shouldn't change unless I tell it to
    27) "FOCUS" doesn't turn your character around when prone, so it's useless to "FOCUS" when you're facing the wrong way
    28) Shooting Drones/Reaper/Azriel down should ALWAYS automatically give you the drops. Chasing them up onto some mountain top is near impossible.
    29) Sneak for PANTHER, and then using the perk for Stealth, still allows you to walk like a herd of elephants, and be heard from 20 paces away.....Fix the "STEALTH" feature
    29) Seriously, Lv4 Sniper: Use a pistol and kill 2 targets from 150m away.......You can't even see them ....... fix it
    30) Where is the "SKILL RESET" ???? Need one.....
    31) Hit box for the "Behemoth" needs to be a bit larger. You shouldn't have to use a sniper rifle only to hit it. Rocket laucher didn't even scratch the effn thing when I used it....
    32) Accuracy for AR's is off, tried shooting an armadillo with a scope on. Red dot right on the animal, and it took 5 shots to hit the thing. Rounds hitting all around where I was aiming...


    Will add more once I do some more testing....

    With regards to number 26, you can actually set the game to stop automatically switching your over-the-shoulder view via the settings. I turned it off after I snuck through the swamp and had it switch back and forth on me six times in less than two minutes.

    Otherwise, eh. I guess the thing is that I kind of just wanted Ghost Recon: Wildlands 2 with maybe a new landmass and refined controls (especially in regards to movement). Maybe an improvement to how much world it remembered at any given time so that I didn't find myself clearing half of El Sueno's mausoleum complex only to have half the enemies respawn along with the turrets at the entrance because I got too far into it.

    That's it. I actually thought Ghost Recon: Wildlands was a great game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    But... I get it. Things change. Artists experiment. Game franchises occasionally homogenize. I'm not a fan of having no AI squad-mates in a squad-based shooter, and gods only know when they'll be patched in. I'm not a fan of Division style hubs where a dozen other Nomads are running around in garish armor, but somehow those Nomads disappear the moment I leave the base because magic. I'm not a fan of the obtrusive, insistent efforts to get me to group "PRESS O TO JOIN A PARTY" displayed in the upper right the whole time I'm at the rebel base. I'm a long wolf continually encouraged to group with other lone wolves, eh? I think the menus are a little awkward and having to go into them for basic things like switching inventory items feels like a chore. Why do I have to go there to switch my binoculars into a slot, then use the binoculars, then go back into the menu to switch the binoculars back to another item because I don't need them for when combat starts? Why do we have classes? Surely a spec-ops soldiers is trained in using medkits, right? Drill Sergeants don't just hold a medkit in one hand, a gas grenade in the other, and say "field medic or assault. Healing or damage. The choice is yours!"... do they?

    From what I hear, the gear system is only really pertinent regarding robots and enemy "wolves" units... but why does this game need a gear system anyway? "Get your legendary AK-47 with +25% mobility and +20% reload speed!" Who was asking for this? What player demographic needed Destiny / Diablo loot and gear levels in a military tactical squad-shooter?

    The game looks great at 4k, but my framerate sucked then so I bumped it down to 1080p and set the graphics to as high as possible. Ran amazingly well with a strong framerate, but looked blurry and hazy as all get-out. Another game that I either run at 4k with medium or wince at... which is weird because Ghost Recon: Wildlands looked great at 1080p and I had zero complaints.

    And... that's it for me. I am glad they effectively toned down the survival aspects to nothing. Food just seems to give a 10 minute buff and the upgrade to the canteen means you can fill it anywhere at any time from any water source, really. No idea what I need water for. Maybe to recharge stamina faster? Didn't seem to matter. I am also looking forward to playing it once they add back in AI squad-mates. Otherwise... I don't know who the audience for this game is. I don't know who was asking for this. Admittedly, I pre-ordered it because I loved Ghost Recon: Wildlands and I want to give this one a chance... but I would have been overjoyed at Ghost Recon Wildlands 2. Instead, I'm lukewarm and remorseful that they have zigged so many places where I wish they would have kept zagging. *shrug*

    But who knows? Maybe they'll give it the same kind of super patching they gave The Division (typed The Division 2 first by accident. That game started out alright and, from what I've heard, is still going well). Then again, maybe they'll also add AI squad-mates to the Division games so that I an actually play them outside of peak hours without feeling utterly hamstrung by the lack of friendly support? I've wished for things before and not gotten them. :-P

    I loved the actual minute-to-minute gameplay, avoiding the drones, etc. But I absolutely HATE everything about the 'gear score' nonsense and other looter-shooter elements they've brought over from The Division.

    I got tired of 'gear score' in The Division, and the whole looter-shooter vibe in general... that's why I didn't bother with The Division 2. And at this moment in time, I doubt I'll be bothering with this either.

    I spent hours trekking around the place following clues for one side mission to find an old acquaintance of Mads, getting my Gear Score up gradually, only to find that I had no hope of progressing because my Gear Score was 23 and the radioactive bunker required level 60.

    I hate this nonsense where one version of a gun grants perks over the exact same gun you've already found 16 times. I hate that a flimsy-looking outfit supposedly gives you more protection than something which looks like the Bomb Squad would wear it. And so on. At this rate, my ultimate protection to enter the previously mentioned bunker could well turn out to be a pair of Crocs, Speedos, and a string vest, topped off with a knotted hanky on my head, and a pair of those comedy glasses with the eyeballs bouncing around on springs.

    Oh, and I know it's a beta, but... the vehicles sound awful and handle terribly.
