    Below are frequently asked questions about the Beta.

    Can I invite friends?
    Yes! For further information, please check out this post

    Do I need an internet connection to play the Beta?
    Yes, a persistent internet connection is needed to play the Beta.

    Do I need Xbox Live to play the Beta?
    You do not need Xbox Live when playing the game in solo mode. However, for all online features, such as multiplayer and co-op mode, an active subscription with the relevant console online service is required.

    When does the Beta take place?
    This will be available from 5th September 2019 at 12pm CEST to the 9th September 2019 at 12pm CEST! Pre-load starts 2nd of September 2019 at 12pm (CEST). For more details on local times, please check out this FAQ.

    Will I get a reward for playing the Beta?
    Yes, all players will receive an exclusive emblem.

    What languages are available in the Beta?
    Audio: English
    Subtitles: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Czech, Polish, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Thai.

    What is the size of the Beta?
    On Xbox, the Beta is around 27 GB .

    Does progress carry over from the Beta to the full game?
    No, progress will not carry over.

    Is the Beta under NDA?
    This Beta is not under NDA.

    More information on accessing and downloading the beta can be found below.

    How can I access the Beta?
    Access the Beta by pre-ordering
    • Digital preorder- By preording through the Xbox store, you will have direct access. Just download the Beta! (Instructions below).
    • Retail preorder- Your retailer should provide you with a beta access code. After redeeming your code here, you will receive a key in your email. Instructions on redeeming the key can be found below.
    Access the beta from being selected
    • On Xbox One, you will receive a key in your email. Instructions on redeeming the key can be found below.

    Friend Invite
    • If you've been invited, you will receive instructions VIA email. After confirming your participation, you will receive a key. Instructions on redeeming the key can be found below.


    Redeeming your Beta key
    • Start your Xbox and log in with your account. You can also create an account online
    • On Xbox One, say Xbox, use a code or select Xbox Store > Browse games > Use a code.
    • Enter the 25-digit code. You can also redeem the code here
    An Xbox Live download code is valid for one-time use only with Xbox One systems.

    If you are experiencing issues with your key, please create a ticket.

    After I have received access, how can I download the beta?
    • Once you have signed in, go to the Store.
    • Search for Ghost Recon Breakpoint Beta.
    • Select the game.
    • Press A to pre-load or download the Beta.
    Players who already have the Online Technical Test build installed on their platform won't have to download the full build again. Instead, they will only have to download a patch!

    Note that the Beta might be called Target VMC, Target Technical Test or Technical Test after activating your key on PS4 or Xbox One.

    Connection troubleshooting
    If you are having issues with your connection to Ghost Recon Breakpoint, please try the following troubleshooting steps.

    1. Reset your network hardware
    Resetting your network hardware allows it to re-establish a fresh connection to your ISP. To do this:
    • Shut down all computers/consoles connected to your modem and/or router.
    • Power down and unplug the modem and/or router.
    • Wait 60 seconds.
    • Plug in and turn on the modem and/or router
    This will power cycle your modem or router.

    2. Power cycle your Xbox One
    Power cycling your Xbox will do various things, including reset your hardware's network activity.
    • Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for about10 seconds.
    • Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console/ the Xbox button on your controller.
    Note If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

    3. Clear your Xbox's cache
    Clearing the cache erases temporary files, which if they become corrupted, may lead to connectivity issues. To do this:
    • Turn off the Xbox completely
    • Unplug the Xbox for two minutes
    • Turn the Xbox back on
    Note: this will not clear any saves or installation.

    4. Enable UPnP
    Some players have reported that enabling UPnP helped them to fix their issue. UPnP stands for Universal Plug and Play and allows applications to automatically forward ports. Due to the amount of different routers, we cannot provide exact steps and recommend you consult your routers manual or your ISP.

    5. Port Forwarding
    Port forwarding makes sure that the router's firewall does not interfere with the game's connection. For more information, please check out this FAQ. If you forward ports, you will also want to set up a static IP for your Xbox One. Instructions on this can be found here.
    The ports needed for Ghost Recon Breakpoint are:

    TCP: 80, 443
    UDP: 1000, 4000-4050, 9103

    6. Place the console into the DMZ
    Please follow the instructions on this FAQ. Please be aware that your Xbox will not be protected by your router's security measures in the DMZ. If you have concerns about the security of the network you are on, we recommend that you do not apply this troubleshooting step.

    7. External restrictions
    There may be restrictions set by your ISP or network administrator. Some examples of where this may be an issue include a university campus, a military base, or shared housing. If you believe this you are affected by this, please contact your ISP or network administrator.

    If you are still experiencing connection issues after completing these steps, please create a ticket with a screenshot of your forwarded ports.     Xbox One troubleshooting
    If you are experiencing crashes, performance issues, or any other issues on Ghost Recon Breakpoint, please try the following steps:

    1. Make sure your system is up to date
    To do this, connect your console to the internet and check if any updates are available. Please check out this official Microsoft article!

    2. Power cycle your Xbox One
    • Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds.
    • Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console/ the Xbox button on your controller.
