Cannot find it anywhere else so here goes.

The game is troublesome to start anyway but if I get through to the end of all the adverts I get "Press A to start".

Nothing works and that is the end of my interaction apart from control alt del.

I've tried in compatibility and administrators mode.

Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Updated drivers.

Exactly same hardware as before when it used to work.

Any ideas ?

If at the end of the loading sequence (logos included) and there's a message on screen which states "Press A to Start" then there's a real serious problem, as you should see a flashing "Press any key".

Assuming the quote was only to indicate there was something to press to continue and nothing happens ... try verifying the game files.

Is it a simple A or an A in a circle?
In the last case, the game has found a joypad or other controller and asks you to press the A-Button on it.
If you have another controller installed without an A, use the lower button on the right (e.g. X).
If you have no controller installed, check your drivers and windows settings. Perhaps there may be an error.

It is an A in a circle.

I had forgotten about the thrustmaster stick I had still plugged in. I have removed it, restarted the game but it still asks Press A to start. A in a circle...
I have also deleted the stuff in the documents folder.

I have this same issue. It seems that a previous controller input command is blocking any current input. I can unplug and then plug back in the usb cord and it will remove the previous input long enough for one or two current inputs but then it goes back to the original state where I can no longer input manually.
I would like to finish my tier mode before the new game but resolution on this is controller issue non-existent therefore I will be holding off my purchase and recommendation to others of the new Ghost Recon until this is fixed.

This seems to be related to another error, where the the game doesn't show this screen, but stucks in loading it.

I have the same exact same issue.

After all the other troubles and research and tricks I had to do to launch the game (which seems to work with only one particular combination of windows 7/8 compatibility for GRW.exe and rungame.exe and disabled windows defender) I am able to enter the logos vids and then loading screen where it ask me to press A (green circle as on controllers). No input seems to work except ctrl+alt+suppr and also maj+f2 for in game ubisoft (disabling in game ubi also break the launch ) I do no have a controller plugged. Plugging a controller break the launch of the game btw.

33 hours of perfectly working game until one update.

Is that issue solved yet? In 2020? Any known fix?

Thanks for reaching out and I am sorry to hear about this.

Could you advise whether at any point did you have controller connected? If you did, what type of controller was it? Also, have you had a chance to try and delete game configuration settings file and launch the game again, to see if issue persists?
