Playtested the NEW Centurion, I love it!

I love it so much. It messes with my brain a little that now I have to attack and not be a parry machine on cocaine. But I love it so much, it brought tears to my eyes. And it got released on my birthday too (turned 17). I'm so happy

    Opinions on the Centurion?

The kick needs to change. Legion's Kick needs to change. It frustrates me beyond belief, a 600ms bash that can only be activated 300ms into a dodge cannot remain in this game. It's just too easy to dodge and gurantees damage for most of the cast.

But his main mixup seems good on initial testing. I need to play more to give an extensive review, so far only the kick is a thorn in my eye.

Lion's roar no longer benefits from haymaker and you have to mash a throw out after smacking someone instead of the smooth responsiveness that it used to be.
Then theres the fact that the lion's roar activates someone's stamina regen immediately wether they're out of stamina or not. Supposedly you can't get his heavy on a heavy parry anymore and you get a fully charged heavy on light parry but I haven't vetted that yet myself.
The added time it takes to do a kick or a heavy after a throw seems to have screwed with trying to do eagles talons on someone you throw to the ground with OOS. It seems like you're probably unsafe from doing so. But again. Haven't been able to vet this. (also ranged parrying happening if you parry his UB side heavies. why.)

Overall Centurion feels smooth in some places and clunky in others. His punishes even in 4's are really bad. Sure, you still get multiple heavies with eagles talons. But the rest of the time? It feels like a chore to actually get good damage in. I was fine with doing less damage in duels punish wise for the extra mix up potential. I'm not okay with that in 4's when my main offense comes from bashes which feeds revenge.

i'm still going to wait a few days to see what pops up and hopefully have a more clear mind. But i'm unhappy mostly at the moment. he feels clunky/buggy and the extra mix up/better recoveries doesn't make up for that completely when his punishes are bad.

I agree, he still has some of the lowest punishes in the game, and most of the time when I try to do my unblockable people light me out of it. Especially Gladiator, lol Orochi fast lights
You are able to get a light off a parry punish which flows into punch which is good. Though It's kinda crazy how you no longer get a heavy off a heavy parry??? Ara still does, I know he's currently really bad and way worse than Reworked Centurion but still if you read wrong he hits you with a 40 dmg heavy so he's not that bad, and still he gets a heavy off a heavy parry. So I think it's only fair to give that back to Cent because his heavy damage is really low. Shaolin for example gets 24 on a heavy, now Cent only does 17? Way to balance damage, Ubisoft

Anyway I am pleased more or less, let's hope people don't scream for a nerf AGAIN

You really can't get a heavy on a heavy parry anymore... but I did do a pin on a light parry, so 17 and 30 are his punishes. Which is overall even lower than before.

He feels insanely clunky now. There is a delay on everything which feels terrible. Half the time you cannot get a charged heavy off a wall splat, it needs to be at least a medium range throw. Even the parry counter doesn't guarantee it anymore, even though they lowered the range, what in the hell? His heavies are extremely vulnerable to GB now.

So far this is looking bad.

I don't know what you're talking about, his heavy parry punish is still the same. His parry counter (kick) has changed to a light.
You also can't get pins on light parries, that was your opponent slipping up.

Though i do agree cent feels clunky in general. It feels like his range on almost all attacks including heavies and lighs were shadow nerfed.I have to be standing really close to an enemy to do a light attack.

17 damage on a heavy parry is totally fair. Lots of characters get 15 only. 30 is also quite avarage if you indeed get that. Aramusha, Shinobi, Warlord and Shaolin are broken in the heavy parry aspect, they should be normalized too (though in shaolin's case, they rarely go for the third light). Plus that 17 is probably 27 with haymaker, very far above avarage. High parry punishes discourage offense, they are not too healthy for the game.

Happy Birthday! I hope I won't have to wait until next May with a pk rework of this level (though I wouldn't be surprised).

But..centurion's parry punishes are still the same and gets a 25 damage heavy off a heavy parry..
