I think that 400 ms lights are good but only as openers. They should not be inside of a chain. Heroes like Glad would be able to hit the light and go into the skewer mix up. Or Orochi would be able to hit the light and combo into.... moving on.
400 ms lights are not bad. They are good, but should only be allowed as an opener, strictly as an opener. No 2-3 light chains anymore. Maybe Orochi or PK can keep those. But the rest of the characters should be mix up reliant
Thing is if you're gonna put 400 ms light chains into the game people will just abuse it and call it a strategy because technically the game allows them to do it. (Just like BP bash on release) It's spam, it's unskilled, it's toxic and it's not fun
He has no 400ms lights. He has 433 and 466, blocking top and reacting to the side should be possible, and he has to land or whiff a light to start it. A bunch of 500ms lights are really, really useless in chains, no way you will land those, this is the minimum speed needed to make them a threat. Meanwhile, 400ms as openers are toxic, just look at the new Lawbringer and how a bunch of players only spam the top light with him (400ms zone opener is what keeps the pk alive with all the serious weaknesses she has, but of course that eats away all her stamina).
What I am more concerned about is the zone. Do they really want to make a 20 damage (30 with haymaker) move with so little risk on a viable character? The minimum should be taking away the feintable option, if you measured the distance poorly or were dodged, that's really on you.
The changes in general look good, though the warlord seems to get the minimal attention again, which he shares with pk. The lights weren't even sped up from 600ms if I am correct.
Totally agree with you bog I'm getting to the point of leaving also just because they are focused on the top 1% on PC. Total ignores console and lets us have to deal with the light spam now. 400-433ms practically the same.
Looking at how cent is gonna play now is going to be even more annoying and now we're gonna have to deal with glad with a massive spam fest isn't going to be fun either.
If you find console experience lackluster, For Honor is free for this week, come to PC. But I watched a lot of youtubers who are on console, and I don't see orochi dominating the battlefield. Heroes with armor and high damage are still at the top.
Also, a very simple advice just to get prepared to glad: BLOCK TOP. That's it. If 433 is basically 400 for you, I assume that by the rule of rounding 466 is 500. His side lights are 466ms. Block top, react to side. But I somehow doubt gladiators will start to spam lights, zone is still the supreme tool in his kit. Also, there are things like nuxia in the game with all combo lights 400ms, this is nothing compared to it.
As someone who bring Glad till rep 9 and literally Wait him to be viable in order to really play him these changes are extremly disapointing.
I love everything about this heroe and just look at him on my screen without playing him since s5 because of how weak he is.
So lets recap, a faster oos toe stab and a better skewer tracking, i take it while its not a big deal.
Outside of that only 433/466 lights. Damn... awfull. All i dont wanted for him.
After testing ground what will happen ? Let me say to you thats predictable. People will complain about Glad so much but as Ubi doesnt have others plan for Gald and dont care ar all about this heroe they will not put more work into his kit so they will only slighly slow down to maybe 466ms/500ms but more dmg.
My hopes was a big improvment on Toe stab : chain out of it, less recovery, mode dmg.
Also giving him a guaranteed light after his punch so that they dont only drain and blind and his special parry punish really mean something.
I wanted his skewer to have now a part of direct dmg and not only bleed.
And of course some standardization as a better guard and 500ms lights.
But hey no lets just makes him a beginners friendly heroe anyway thats how the game is going atm which is funny because they focus their balancing only on the top PC players.
