1-The concept of "defend or dodge or gb" concept is broken. A special controller or a custom layout disrupts the general combat's sense. Gb s become too easy to break and characters depending on it suffers as a consequence.
2-The frame rates on consoles, the timings of attacks need a special treatment for the 30fps(cinematic mode).
3- The biggest problem for me is the disconnection between the window that i need to guard and the capability of characters. When i zone-in on the game, i tend to guard at the last moment (before the contact) but that is not good enough for the game so i always have to guess instead of reacting instinctively.
4- the heavy feints need to happen too soon so i need to feint the attack much before i would instinctively want to, that makes the attacks too predetermined / blindly performed and the action on screen lagging much the widget battle that happens in the middle of the screen.
5- there is no "breakaway" move in the game at least in duels, maybe in the Early versions they thought the double dash escape move as an actual escape move but that is not the
Case anymore. Maybe they should add HyperArmor to it. Without an escape mechanic albeit with some usage limitation, it feels like a game that lets 100% hp combos.
6- The next game should be in strict 60 fps, regardsless of platform and the animation/effects system be much more advanced.
100 times this. And btw, he didn't leave. He was unofficially FIRED months before the end of the project, being kept locked in a closed door office not to interact with anyone and once For Honor launched, he was officially FIRED. Watch the documentary "Playing Hard" staring Jason himself for the full and very sad story.Originally Posted by Nikaa47 Go to original post
The game has better points and worst point then at launch. I really couldn't say if I enjoy it more now or then since time also have an effect to consider. But there are some points still in this game that makes me not want to recommand it to new players :
#1 : The game still rewards the victim. Successfully guardbreaking an opponent sometime procs his revenge and the game sometimes doesn't register your "Cancel" button to stop the heavy attack. So, for successfully guardbreaking your opponent, you receive a full knockdown punish, buffed by revenge, where some character can take away 80% of your hp.
#2 : Revenge in general is a huge fun breaker. It's as if they've put it in the game so people can do "higlights" of winning 1v4 on youtube. In reality, it's just a frustrating and unrealistic mechanic.
#3 : Balance in general is beyond terrible and slow. I worked at Ubisoft in the past and know the designers are not that ******ed ... which means other people are pulling the strings for the wrong reasons, which doesn't bode well for the game's futur.
etc.
Game is still "ok" I guess and I play it less and less ... but to be frank, there is a shortage of decent games on the market I haven't played and I'm "stuck" with For Honor until something else comes out.
You should not lose the ability to counter guard break right after you dodge
Why would i be fully disabled if i moved my feet few inches ? That makes zero sense
If i performed a heavy missed attack i deserve to be wide open for one or two seconds dependently because it makes sense due to stamina spent after swinging hard
This game should be more realistic thus it will be more fun to play .
.
As an above average console player i think the game is going in the wrong direction, it was more fun before with mindgames, feints and outplay your opponent. Now its basicly the one WHO attacks first with his fast attacks that wins. Pointless to try parry when its easier to just lightspam your opponent to death with an occasionly bash or GB.
My opinion is that For Honor is not going in the right direction because their idea of "balance" is nerfing Heroes into the ground and not even including all of the nerfs in the Patch notes.Originally Posted by DeamonXII Go to original post
