The only ones I can think of are Jannisars (whose main weapon were firearms), and the spahi (who were cavalry). The problem is, the Ottoman Empire's main era was the era of firearms, until then, the only really unique weapon they used was the yatagan, which sucked and were drawn only if spears/guns were lost (kinda like the katana, just in an even more obvious way). Plus their main strenght lied with numbers and modernish logistics, plus an ideology which was effective for two centuries (and became so obsolete that former enemies had to save the crumbling empire from making a power vacuum in the region).
If Ottomans will ever be introduced, I would say they should be introduced as part of an other faction. A faction of saracens, ottomans, arabs and maybe even africans (the muslim warriors) are put together in a "Desert Faction" or "Crescent Moon Faction", it might work. The most realistic way I can see it happening is giving the knights a jannisar vanguard.
On a positive note, there is a battle technic called the Ottoman Slap. That would bring great meme potential.

Lol Goat that is really, really inaccurate given one of their big moments was ending the roman empire (there were two halves of it) in about 1450...
Janissaries were an elite militant social class, like knights and samurai, made up of christian members of the Ottomans (more soldier than lord but still can compare). They carried alot of types of weapons, depending on the era
The Slap is debatable, but in its essence it is to slap the side of an armoured helmet to disorientate them without breaking your hand by punching thier helmet - this implies helmets being worn meaning its not really the firearm era of Crimean war etc.
About a year ago i said they should have changed the 4th faction to 'mercenaries and allowed alot more variety within it without changing the 3 way dynamic of the game. No new factions as factions but a broader canvas for some of the more unique warriors (I mean I want a zuluOriginally Posted by TOCKSYK Go to original post)
World powers have a habit of doing that haha... I guess you need to remember they had to built that into an empire at some point (not easy, go look at the countries that were in it now)... luckily (European) history only goes back about 200 years for my country so we can stick to hating Nazi's & their silly mustachesOriginally Posted by Goat_of_Vermund Go to original post
EDIT: re reading that just wanted to clarify I am not comparing the two, just being grateful my countries grudge list is small and mostly limited to sporting events![]()
