Looking for a clan to have fun with the normal raid for the experience

    PS4.
I enjoyed the story missions. Started a new character to enjoy the story once again. I am level 30, have done all invaded missions and numerous ones (successfully) on challenge and some on heroic, including Tidal Basin (with a group). I enjoy providing backup
I liked the expeditions, got the DiamondBack and, in a group helped another agent to get the DiamondBack. Have a few exotics - including liberty and chatterbox - stating this to indicate that I have a fair idea of what I am doing. However, I am over being a "mouse running a maze for the elusive cheese" and I am ready to move on to other things but before I do that I have given my self a few months to have some fun with the normal raid - I don't mind making a mess of it or if other's do and I don't particularly care what gear you have or don't have. I am confident, if we conduct ourselves like agents and not hyenas, we can learn and grow together - the weak and the strong (in terms of abilities and gear)
Please, only respond if you are like-minded and would like me to join your clan.
Kindly refrain from providing advice to me as to what I should and could do as seeking advice is not the aim of this thread. Especially toxic comments are not welcome - be mindful of the code of conduct agents. I state this because on the occasions I have posted some of the responses seem to suggest that the hyena's are looking for opportunities to display their lack of politeness.
    Cheers.

    Hi Rashbak101,
I have noticed that you've copped a bit of flak on the forums for requesting alternate ways to obtain the Eagle Bearer and agree that some of the statements (in reply to yours) were on the harsh side of the fence.
The devs have stated clearly that they have locked the exotic AR behind the raid for a reason and they have no plans to change it.
That being said....this is the correct course of action if you want to get this gun. You don't even have to complete the raid to get it.
Multiple members of our clan have obtained the EB simply by having it drop after beating the first raid boss (Boomer).
We'd be happy to help you learn the raid mechanics on Normal mode (as it is far more difficult and complex than Discovery mode) and have a chance to complete the raid and get yourself an Eagle Bearer.
It does require that you have a decent build to be effective. The chest talent of choice for us (not that it's a requirement mind you) is Unbreakable for survivability.
You could also run Unstoppable Force or Berserk if you put it together right.
You want at least 70% Damage to Elites (of course higher is better....mine is 101% DtE).
You want headshot damage of at least 70% (again one of my builds runs 223% HSD).
You'll want Patience on your kneepads.
You want as much armour as you can get when learning the basics. You can then swap to more damage and less armour as your knowledge and skill with the raid increases.
This is not a requirement, it is a suggestion. I'm sure other people run other builds too and they work just fine for them.
If you don't have these things we'll be happy to run through the early stages of the raid a few times while you work towards them.
The final boss (Razorback) is complex and requires very clear communication and teamwork coupled with strong builds.

You (and anyone else who is interested) can submit a request to join our clan via the "find a clan" option.
Search for "Agent" clan on PS4. The clan tag is [SHD]. Region is Oceania.
    We have only two rules.
Respect other members. Respect the right of other players to enjoy playing the game as they wish.
We currently have a dozen or so slots open as I recently purged a number of inactive members.
    Feel free to join us.

You could use this thread to get eight like minded people to work towards completing the raid? I think a lot of people are in clans where they have settled teams now and discord seems to involve a lot of elitism where people expect X amount of raid clears before they will run with you which is fine, I get that people don't want to carry others sometimes

I haven't raided much, mostly I PVP to be honest but would be more than willing to be part of a group to run a regular raid with you if you recruit more interested players.

We have around 20 or so members of our clan who are raiding (and completing) with multiple characters each week.
I cleared the raid 4 times with 4 different characters yesterday in 2 different groups (and managed to better our fastest time and got it done in 36mins).
We're not elitist, we don't all have perfect builds. We just kept banging away at it and got better each time.

I tried matchmaking on Discovery mode twice today.
The first attempt was a farce.
Of eight players, none of the other seven had bothered to even watch a video or two to see what was required.
One player had no interest in participating at all and did not fire a shot at anything. He did not even step off the rope onto the tarmac at the first conflict. At Boomer he sat in a corner in cover and didn't fire a shot or move except to evade npc's who got close to him. After we wiped for the third time (because no one else knew what to do or could understand what I was trying to explain to them) we kicked him from the group as it was obvious he was just coming along for the ride to pick up the gear that the other seven players earned. People ask why no MM for normal raid....this is why.
This group then disintegrated after we wiped another few times because no-one else knew what to do or was willing to listen and learn.

The second time was a bit better. We bulldozed through the first boss because the regular mechanics simply aren't there. On the second boss where communication is actually required had 2 players admit that they had microphones and who were willing to talk and run the consoles on the plane. Again we brute forced this boss in a way that simply isn't possible in normal difficulty.
Same thing with the third boss. On Razorback the two others and myself handled all of the mechanics (simplified as they are) while the others ran around like headless chickens.
We finished it, but not in a way that would have got us 2 minutes into the raid if played on normal difficulty.

On a brighter note. The two guys who were willing to communicate, learn and cooperate are now the newest members of our clan and will be learning and participating in the harder version with the rest of us.
I guess there is a positive side to matchmaking. It's just that it's far too often outweighed by the negative.

The raid is complex. There are specific mechanics you need to be aware of. You DO need to have a decent build if you are not to seriously hamper the other seven players.
It is possible to carry someone through if they don't do anything except keep themselves alive.
The problem is that if you attempt to participate and shoot then if you don't learn what you should be doing you are more likely to sabotage the progress of the team without even realising that you are screwing it up or how.
    Matchmaking for normal difficulty......definitely not.
    Not now, not ever.
    Kap.

Thank you agent for your positive response. I will send a request this evening to join your clan. I am working on my gear build and think I am moving in the right direction and have taken your suggestions on board and have an open mindset and happy to learn in a mutually respectful and supportive environment.
    Once again - thank you.
    Cheers

Thanks for your response agent. I was thinking of starting my own clan but I think that would be premature at this stage as I realise I need to approach the raid session differently - study more on the mechanics of the game. After completing all the missions when I was at World Tier 5 and the raid came out I tried it once solo then with a group of four and subsequently with a group of 8 - we got our a**** kicked. But it was a great experience!
    Cheers mate.

Good to see Kap has you sorted, hopefully his clan is a good fit for you! Good luck with the grind for that EB, you seem to have a positive mindset around taking advice and by the sounds of it their clan will help you get raid ready!

Also well done to you for reaching out Kap, there's a lot of good people in the community who are happy to support others, sometimes that gets lost in the nonsense spouted in here

Thanks for your response agent. I am im Kap's clan now and and it has been a very positive experience! He has been very generous with his time and given me some helpful suggestions.
Theodore Rooseveld's words come to mind " I don't care how much you know until I know how much you care". Kap is a very knowledgeable commander and he CARES.
    Cheers.
