A crazy idea that may not work.

At this point, it's starting to feel to me like any archetypes associated with the various factions are getting close to being tapped out. What's left, then? Alternative weapons for existing heroes. The genesis for this idea was my desire to see an axe/shield combo in the game, most specifically on the Conqueror. The flail is a bad idea for a weapon and there's some debate as to whether it was used at all in medieval warfare. However, some people like it so rather than fewer options, whip up a few new animations, change a couple of motions, and give him an axe. Of course, this works for some heroes better than others, and for some classes may not work at all. Just a thought.

A lot if axe users already and they are trying to diversify the choices. As for the historical significance yes maces were used in medieval warfare now to the effectiveness of that in combat with a shield of conquerors size I don't know, but I do believe that there use was effective in for of hitting breaking limbs and poorly made shields but. Yeah.

Maces, yes, usually by cavalry, I'm given to understand. Spiked flails? Not so much.

Well most of what I read and actual see at a place called medieval times which is a sort of show and restaurant establishment they actually use the flails on the horses. Now while I personally wouldn't think a flail on horse back is good idea I can see the application of running speed a ball on a chain and swinging it in a vertical direction or even out in a wide 90 degree angle could work to knock a head or too provided no actual mishap occurred while doing so.

Too many axes in game already. Doesn't matter the historical significance because, I'm no historian mind, I don't think Shaolin Monks actually did or do teleport. I like the usage of the flail to be honest, and first in this post you say we are out of ideas almost but then ask to redo a character with a weapon that there are, if you count a halberd as an axe, already 4 variations on already. We should be getting other weapons in though, there are quite a few more not accessed in game yet. Such as a cloak and rapier user. Or someone with maybe twin daggers (albeit unpractical in actual combat, but this is For Honor, might as well be an anime) or even someone with just a straight up club or morning star. There are so many more options, some of them I can't even pronounce. And with the Wu Lin they showed that they aren't above going into different nations for their weaponry. Provided the game keeps going, we may see many more weapons with hopefully more creative styles.
