So let's discuss the nuxia. I am a returning player from when marching fire dropped. Alots happened since then. 3 new heroes, raider, shugoki, lawbringer....raider....RAIDER!!!! BROKE. Ahem...but i am not here to talk about raider. I am here to ask why nuxia has bot been touched. She plays considerably the same and as far as I know, her damage values has remained the same. She doesn't seem faster or slower and is still as 1 dimensional as ever. It was my opinion that she was the weakest of the wu-lin and would receive...something, but lo and behold...nothing.
I have to believe the devs are hard at work on the new character dropping so I won't say they are being lazy, but in the spirit of "not a lot of work" I would like to propose a couple of changes.
1. Reduce the start up time of a trap by 100 ms and increase the time to turn a heavy into a trap by 100 ms. Being able to throw it out at different times would make it more effective. If this done i propose traps drop from 30 damage to 25 to compensate as well as a slight reduction in stamina (20%).
2. Allow traps to be counted as the second hit in a combo. This would allow the 3rd heavy (the one that displaces) to be accessed easier while also stopping trap/light spam. More of a nerf by way of damage but if that 3rd heavy is successful its 40 damage, so it can be really good.
3. Give her third heavy and zone the undodgeable trait. Nuxia needs to be close quarters to apply pressure, having undodgeable on her finishers will make them a competent 50/50. Do you block/parry or call the bluff? Either way it would make her fights more engaging.
4. Make her deflect guaranteed but reduce damage to 30. Or keep the same damage but make it bleed dot. Perhaps remove damage altogether and make it a guaranteed gb. Or find a way to incorporate a guranteed trap off of one? Either way do something with the deflect.
5. Make her dash attacks heavies keep the same damage. This will allow her to turn them into traps and create a 50/50 as well as produce a combo through a standard block and allow her to keep up her offense.
6. Finally: Increase the speed of her zone by 200 ms.
I don't think any of this except for the dodge heavy to trap animation will be very difficult to implement. I believe it will make for a more engaging and enjoyable nuxia.
I am not a nuxia main (tried her out, the design was dissapointingly boring for me), and there are notnmany of them either, but I just watched her state of balance analysis, and she is basically the best breach character and is considered a very good 4v4 character. Traps are quite situational, but she has the most 400ms lights, decent damage (the heavy finisher is 40 and potentially a throw into 30 more) and very good mixup potential. The only reason she is not picked more is her very boring style regarding her apparaence.

1. This would make them unreactable, and I would personally like to keep them barely reactable for higher damage. Agreed with the 100ms further delay, disagreed with them being 100ms faster. The way to discourage just using a light to her trap on reaction is by allowing her to dodge out of her trap's recovery, which would allow her to deflect lights and mistimed heavies.
2. Her heavy finisher is already easily accessible because blocking a delayed 400ms light is a 33% chance read. This is an unneeded nerf that just destroys her flow like PK.
3. Definitely agreed, currently dodging is an easy way out of her entire pressure bar feint-GB.
4. Reducing damage is a no. Either make it unblockable, or if her having a 40 damage deflect is so not okay, even though Shinobi does 50 and overall the game keeps getting more hard hitting moves, make it an enhanced light or just a heavy that deals 20 chip damage on block, allowing her to deal at least some damage and continue her chain.
5. This would definitely be an interesting change, especially considering all the other Wu Lin have some kicker attached to their dodge attack, but she doesn't.
6. Her zone should be like Kensei's, in my opinion. Fast first hit, slow windup on the second where her trap will be.

EvoX: Might be personal preference. She is still my fav wulin (I hate the others), but I couldn't create a fashion that I like. Mine is low rep though, does the high rep stuff look better?

About fashion, this is always 100% subjective. I really dislike her on my side but she can look good. Rottmeister Nuxia is good looking for exemple (i've played with).
I dislike all Wulins outside of Shaolin that i found really good looking and very fun to play. But again this may be different for everyone![]()
As a rep 23 Nuxia I'll bite.
1) I honestly don't know about this, would have to see it in practice.
2) No, this would completely destroy her flow. It's fine how it is now.
3 + 6) I'm fine with giving the heavy finisher the undodgeable trait however I would change the zone a bit. Just like EvoX said I'd prefer if her zone is more like Kensei's. If necessary they could nerf the 45dmg of the zone trap because the zone would now be a two hit.
4) I've wanted the deflect to be guaranteed for so loooong. YES. If 40 is too much to be guaranteed I'd rather have it do a lot of chip damage then and not bounce off block allowing her to continue her pressure.
5) So you're suggesting to add a dash heavy with trap feint? I like that idea!
I think I will play her more, tbh, it is really surprising she has a so low pickrate, she is definetely fun to play as, has no glaring flaws in her kit, is quite viable in every game mode, and nothing really irritating like bad voice acting. So I assume it's either her looks, general dislike of the Wulin, or her similarity in playstyle to orochi and peacekeeper.
I would make the traps unreactable to make it a read on the opponent's part, and the zone seems to be quite useless, but I wouldn't change anything else. The undodgable finisher is not a good idea imo, it is already quite strong, and you can hardfeint for guardbreak if you think your enemy will dodge. It's a 33/33/33, but your reward is high, it works perfectly (would with unreactable traps).
Design-wise, I would like a version with shorter hair, bald head or hair covered by a helmet. I also dislike the cape, a simple cloth, armor or the midsection revealing fantasy girl "armor" the two newer heavies have would be all better for me.
Mr. Binks: When she had the highest winrate? And where? And what damage you would nerf? Her 13 damage lights? Or her very regular damage heavies?
