I'm getting matched against smurf accs or super high level rep players while my team is full of low rep players who die a lot and contribute almost nothing
skill says I'm "on par" but they stomp me and my entire team
I'm also getting matched against a lot of groups
why is this happening??

Can't say just why but it happens to me as well. Happened to me just now, in fact. 200 to 1100 or so. They held our point for the entire game and our whole team couldn't dislodge them. There seems to be other players talking about it.

do they actually care about the game or is this just a thing to do between other games?

Start playing against the ai or search out a clan. I doubt it will get better any time soon.

This has been a problem since the beginning of Season 11, there are lots of threads and reports about it.
Something went wrong with the matchmaking changes, we're still waiting to hear any info from the devs about it.

Why haven’t they even addressed this at all?
what “data” are they getting out of getting fixed matches where one team is guaranteed to lose because of low skilled players mixed with maybe 2 at most high skilled players in one team and 4 high skilled players in the enemy team.

And what makes it worse if one of those high skilled enemy team players lags out they get replaced with a level 3 bot just because of 1 high skilled player who is being forced to carry his team full of low skilled players.

Like is this it forcing high skilled to play with low skilled in a handicapped match where one team is struggling the whole match?

If everyone stays in the match, it does a pretty good job at balancing the teams out between rounds based on the K/Ds, but the problem is why people with such mixed skill levels are put in the same match to begin with.
In that respect, the matchmaking in Season 10 worked much better.

This part is something that does not match my experience. I find, personally that it will mix up teams, and I'll lose. Next round it will mix up teams... I'll lose. I went several hours with the same basic group and ZERO wins. I only finally won a round when the enemy team had a dance party instead of fighting.

ha and what about winning/losing 5 rounds in row with the same 8 man and not having any of them moved to the other team, this game is like UBI is intentionally trying to get it dead
