So for what I see there is only one solution for it. Whatever Ubisoft is trying to do, will never work. The problem is that the "player" has specific k/d in general which has afect on matchmaking. But.. to make it work server needs to know what is your hero skill K/D (not general k/d) before match. Because every player has different k/d for different heroes.
So to make it work needs to change process or presetup of a matches.
Player choose a Hero first and then his skill of that hero is looking for other players.
And then is doesnt matter if you play op hero or underdog hero, your skill will be match to the others player.

That would require more work and coding than I think they are willing to put into the game anymore, would have to completely change the menu and matchmaking system.
I do agree that the problem seems to be wildly varying skill levels based on what character you pick.
Maybe the game could take that into account and try to make bigger changes to your elo based on what character you used last?
Bigger negative changes for low rep characters, bigger positives for high reps?
They need to base it on score per minute if you ask me. Breach even has SPM on display.
Someone with a high K/D might just get those kills from ganks and 3v1 or 2v1 etc, etc. But he's a bad Dom player if he doesn't cap zones or clear mid. People who spend time in matches capping zones, boosting zones, clearing mid and fighting/getting kills when neccesary and not just to brag about "BUT I GOT THE MOST (gank) KILLS! SO I DON'T SUCK!!!" will have a high SPM. If you put people with high SPM together, you will have two teams that play the ovjective hard and that means more fun for them (most fun matches for me are the ones where people actually try to win Dominion and not just brawl) You simply can't get a higher SPM than someone who actually plays the gamemode if you only care about kills.
Meanwhile people who don't ptfo and have a low SPM can play their own lobbies with other players who only care about brawling and they can have fun that way.
Both sides win that way. Basing skill off K/D is worthless imo. I can go positive in Dom from just staying close to teammates. You need to land like 1 hit and if he dies from a teammate ten seconds later you get the kill or takedown or whatever it's called. This is why so many people think they're good at Dom when they're actually ****.
Matching based on SPM also partially solves the problem with using low rep heroes you're not that good with yet. You might suck fighting wise if you never used Shaman before, but if you play more of a suporting role like capping zones or helping out teammates, your SPM will only be slight lower than when you're using your main, because all that really changes is that you get maybe less kills. Your OBJ score will still be high.
In dominion if you back out of one Lobby you go into another lobby. This was a fix to the system a couple of months ago. I don't know if it's been fixed in whatever game mode or country your in though. That sucks dude.Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post

It's supposed to be designed so that if you quit a lobby and rejoin matchmaking, you will not connect to the same lobby again for 5 minutes.
It might be that if lots of people in one game do this at the same time, they might end up together again in a new lobby.
If you start trying to make sure you never join a match where ANY of the players from the last match are in, that means the matchmaking has to find 8 new matches for each of the players, blocking you out of 7 lobbies that might have been a really good match for you.
You can see why this would be a problem, sucks when you end up with the same opponent again who kept kicking your teeth out last round, but it can happen sometimes.
