Hello everyone, i'm a newb and i've got 20 hours (maybe little much) on the game. I've started with warlord, enjoyed him then switched to Orochi and Kensei mostly, ( i still play warlord). Im currently enjoying Orochi so much, his strategy which depends on punishing enemy (forgive me if im wrong) is so good. So I've seen berserker and i like his attacks, but couldn't play him. Everytime i pick him i end up 0-3 0-3 on 2v2's. I just watched people who plays berserker on higher lvls. Still have no idea how can he hit someone. His attacks are really slow for me (again sorry if im wrong), animations are so blatant and i think the feints does not work on my lvl because everyone spamming attacks. When im trying to feint and block people are already spamming normals to me. What is Berserkers logic ? How can one get good at berserker ? Differencies with orochi? Similarities? Thanks.
Zerker is a character ment for trading. He has hyper armor on his chains and when he feints his heavy attacks. Generally you want to think of him feinting as his "stance" it keeps him in hyper armor and allows him to throw out 400ms lites which is good for quick hits or to stop guard break attempts.
Zerker can stay in his hyper armor stance for about 6 feints before you run out of stamina. He's also got the best deflect in the game so practice those a lot.
I don't main him, but I can play decent with him. Continue to watch a lot of better Zerkers and see how they use him and try to mimic it. It will take time to become comfortable with him, but when you do he's among the best characters in the game.
He can also cancel his heavies recoveries with a dodge and dodges during his heavy start up.
Hope this helps a little bit anyway.
Good luck to you warrior.
I agree with almost everything @baggin said except for the deflecting, I've never found deflecting a viable option for any character on console just because of the window timing isnt the same as a parry, it's smaller, and anyone I've fought who hit deflects consistently I still beat so, at least until you master a character I wouldn't bother with deflects at the moment.
For berserker, just start off your fights fainting a heavy (for example let's say a left heavy) faint the left heavy, into a right or top light, continue the chain and throw a right heavy, faint it into a left light.. etc etc. He has armor all throughout that, you can trade hits and you will out damage, and you thinking their slow it's just a visual thing on your part, it's fast. Mix your inputs between lights and heavies so their parry timing is off. And it's always good to faint the top unblockables heavy.
Orochi works at that level because of his simplistic black and white design, once you start getting better and fighting better players it's gonna be harder to use orochi, berserker is better all around. Much better.
(I play on PS4 btw)
