There is no button for me to verify game files in the Uplay launcher. I want to do this to fix an error where For Honor fails to launch and shows me "Unrecognized game client. Cannot continue." whenever I try and launch it. the support video is either outdated or not helpful because the verify button does not show up when I enter the drop down menu in the Uplay launcher. I originally crashed whenever I finished a match and started receiving my rewards. I cannot launch the game from steam either. I get a notification from Easyanticheat telling me that the file "forhonor.exe" is not the right file version. I am looking for ways to verify my game's files (For Honor) so that I can launch and play it. I do not want to verify within steam as that causes problems with my download, so if avoidable I want to try and avoid it, which I believe is possible because the Ubisoft Support video shows a verify and repair screen within the Uplay Launcher.
Hey OtakuTacoCat,
If you own the game on a different launcher platform you would need to do the verification steps on the platform that you have the game on.
Do you own the game on Steam? If so, you can verify by following these steps:
- Open Steam and right-click on For Honor.
- Select Properties
- Select the Local Files tab
- Click "Verify the Integrity of game files" button
