Trying to prove a point,

Is comm spamming "wow thanks good fight" after killing someone, considered toxic? And can chat comms be abused to be a form of toxicity?

Depends on your definition of toxic, but generally spamming anything in chat is immature and not something I'd want to be friends with someone doing. Chat comms can indeed be abused to be a form of toxicity. In general, chatting is the main form of toxic gameplay.

I look at it simply - is a player doing something with the intention of upsetting another player? If so that's toxic.

Spamming anything 3 times after someone is killed can be considered salty/toxic.

Even saying good fight once, but only after you kill someone can be a **** move imo, I usually don't say anything until the fight is over, then put a single good fight.

The only person who should say good fight is the guy who lost if he feels like it was a good or close fight. I always say "go **** yourself" under my breath every time someone says good fight after they completely dominate the fight and kill me, who had the good fight? Definitely not me lol it just seems like patting yourself on the back to me.

Didn't know people took it the wrong way when you good fight them after beating them to a pulp. I'll keep this in mind.

A single wow after I parried a light or pulled off something hard is not toxic for me. A single good fight is not toxic for me, regardless the context (with maybe the exclusion if I was ledged), multiple good fight after a really good fight is a form of respect and congratulation. Sorry is not toxic for me if there is a clear reason to apologize (afk, accidental ledging). Ok once is not toxic if some bs happened that is the game's or the player's fault (hitting a wall, missing a clear oos parry, missing an attack on a grounded opponent).

Everything else in the quickchat is almost always a toxic behaviour.

I appreciate the feedback, I had a player that was being toxic on PS4 with the comms, saying wow thanks good fight after every fight, so I messaged him and asked why he was being so toxic we had a good conversation but he said nothing in comms or in games is toxic (keep in mind I was just playing and listening to music, I didn't message out of salt, I was genuinely curious as to why he was toxic) eventually i realized he was like a brick wall and kept with his "no comms are toxic" opinion even after I sent him the forum link. So

Lol well this is usually the same people that when you beat in the same match, say nothing at all, but always say good fight when they win. If I notice they say it every time, win or lose, I'll say it back.

Like I said though, if a player kills another without them even touching them in a 1v1, the only one who had a good fight is the guy who won, if they say good fight in that situation they're just kind of speaking to themselves.

That's my point of view at least, I don't feel I've done very well after missing 4 or 5 parry and blocks in a row and get smashed, so saying good fight is kind of like putting a little salt in the wound.
