now i have unlocked/acquired everything new that tu5 has to offer (except the raid which is unavailable to me) i am not sure how long i will be able to keep playing before the "new" content becomes old and boring especially with the frustrating RNG system which just slaps you in the face with a big **** you every time you loot a item.
i will probably have a look in every now and again especially when the final 3 specializations finally arrive (or when they fix the loot/recalibration system) but until then i will say a fond goodbye.
I was thinking of taking another break, not that I play the game much anyway. I am bored of getting loot that hasn't improved my build or any of the 3 builds I have. I have a seeker build and I keep getting mods for every other skill, I must have about 15+ mods for all the skills I don't use and only 4 for the Seekers. 2 health, a skill haste and 1 damage mod my seekers hit at 342k. It's decent damage but my builds have not changed for a while now and I am seriously getting bored. The new content seems ok but it's not enough to keep me interested for much longer.
I think I finally Realised. Why I to do not play Div 2 much myself anymore other than the bad RNG.
It’s to similar in style and substance to Div 1. So I haven’t been playing off and on for a few months. If you add on the Div 1 time i’ve been playing for more than 2 years. The GFX and locations have changed but not much else. Just relax and think about it.
Playing for loot is always a bad idea in any game. The core gameplay/feedback loop needs to be great and content needs to be more diverse. As of now, each mission is literally the same experience regardless of players or difficulty. You still experience X exactly the same way you did before. We need less set piece based missions and more missions based on replay ability. PvP needs to be balanced properly to coerce players into cover and team-play. Lastly, boss encounters need to be on more of a grand scale with believable mechanics (not a unrealistic hyper armor mechanic that doesn’t allow player to damage the enemy.
I am a bit disappointed of the new content. I would have preferred something like Survival or UG in TD1 as paid DLC instead of the quite boring new missions and expedition for free. It is not enough to keep me playing. The raid is the only part of the end game content that keeps me playing (although I often spend more time in WH searching a raid group than playing). Unfortunately, PVP is not an option at the moment for me without EB and good group and playing always the same missions and bounties is too boring and repetitive. They need to revise RNG and add more interesting and challenging content available for all players.
After going through the student union today I'm kind of glad its time limited because that means I won't be needing to force myself through it again beyond a quick dash in for a backpack dangler I missed collecting. Downside is any alts look like they'll miss out on the rifle unless cassie offers it up once they get that far along.
The lazy tank spawns are something thats persisted throughout the game and likely will continue to do so but combined with a suicidal NPC escort mission who runs headlong INTO fire of all types, keels over dead from full forcing a restart of the entire section and the long winded defend the capture points (I had another fail here as well despite the timers being 10secs remaining) it was simply not fun.
The daily loot rooms were just more trash from the awful RNG and the final payoff in the chapel was to walk into a room, no boss or event or echo to give any finality to the stories we found.
All made even worse because once again I got the poor connection message and had been shunted over to the middle east server. I can kind of tolerate the steady stream of junk and stupidly tanky NPC's but the uncontrolable server hopping is to me the biggest issue with the game. If I live in the UK and am playing the game from there then I shouldn't be expected to enjoy a delay everytime I take a shot to see if the ping has allowed it to land or not all the while taking damage from the enemy who would be all dead and corpsified if not for the nonsensical server change I have no control over.
