Hello! I'm on a team that is currently in it's 6th or 7th week in silver league. We're currently in the mid-200s in terms of our overall rank. However, each week for Team Wars, we have been consistently bracketed with at least 1-2 teams that are in the top 50 overall. Just this past week, our 5-team bracket included a top 10 team and a top 50 team. The other two teams were closer to us in crowns and rank.
While we beat the two teams that were comparable to us rank/crown wise, the other two elite teams crushed us and we ended up in 3rd. Which isn't bad, but when we keep getting bracketed with teams that are ranked over 200 spots better than us, it creates an unfair and uneven playing field and diminishes our chances of improving our rank. Meanwhile, the elite top teams are being fed lower teams that they easily beat.
Can't there be a way to fix the way the team brackets are done for team wars so that all 5 teams in any particular grouping are relatively close in rank/crowns? We should be competing with teams in the mid-200s, where we currently are, not with top 50/top 10 teams, even if they're in silver league. Basing the bracket system SOLELY on same league and number of cap-earning players is not enough - brackets need to group teams within a certain range of rank as well.

You're not going to get an answer from the devs I'm guessing since they completely avoid any topics that give away mechanics like this that can potentially be abused. That said, it's been pretty well confirmed that brackets are made based on the number of caps your team has earned during the week. Play with 50 players on the team and everyone earns all their caps? Prepare for a top bracket with tough competition. Play with either a smaller team (45 members for example) OR have a few of your teammates skip caps collection during the week and you will get a much, much easier bracket. Sadly some teams in the top 10 have abused this "feature" systematically since the start of team wars, which is why you have "top teams" that only score 5000 or so each week. Super lame, but Buck has stated that things are working as intended.
