I have been playing this game since launch and quite a lot in fact. To give an idea on what quite a lot is, this season I managed to get, admittedly just barely, into the +7500 ELO range on a f2p account. I have about 14500 pvp wins and have finished every event, every pve level 15 times, often request cards 3 times a day, open 5 pvp packs per day and regularly hit locker limit.
After this game launched, I spent about 100 euros in the first few months, but have been 100% f2p ever since. And I regret spending this 100 euros, not because I have a problem with paying for a game that I play very often, but because in retrospect it has not helped me advance in this game in any way.The way I see it, this game gives you 2 choices. Be a 100% f2p player, or be an absolute whale spending thousands of euros/dollars/whatever. Spending a few 100 euros, doesn't get you anywhere in this game. In the top 500 everybody is dishing out lvl3, 4 or even 5 legendaries and lvl5 and 6 epics. To buy these kinds of levels, you're spending a small fortune. And let's say you are a bronze player and you buy some legendaries to get them to lvl2 or 3, you will just hit a new wall. What I miss, is the middle ground, something that's worth spending like 10 euros a month without making you OP, but still giving a feeling that it helps you progress in the game. The premium battle pass was a good initiative, but is insufficient in my opinion. I think this game needs a premium account. Now what would this look like?
Let's say you pay 10 euros a month, in return you get things like the following:
- Ability to request cards every 4 hours instead of 8
- Increased locker limit
- Stackable pvp packs like the free packs
- Improved free pack content
- 2 additional deck slots
- a free hat and outfit every month
- 1 additional free locker you can open after a win
- The ability to see the deck of the opponent that just beat the crap out of you (including card levels)
- a free additional challenge attempt
- The abbility to exchange 1 legendary each month for another one
-...
So just things things that make the game more pleasant and allow you to progress faster without just giving you epics and legendaries and still requiring you to put in some effort. I would have no problem paying for that.
