I honestly do hope that you get your fun out of this game
I cant help how i feel ... Played this game & seen the year by year improvements over all environments ( pc / xbox / PS ) Since Trials 2 (flash) & apart from a massive graphical improvement ( that more than likely was pre-codeded way way b4 this game was released ) & the great level design ... nothing has improved![]()
They should have spent the last 2 years of hype about Trials Rising .... Writing a new engine or environment, but they didnt .. they just gave us Evo+ addons ... what did the main Redlynx Devs do in the last 2 years ?? To me it was showing people how to make a track on discord .... ooooh great :/
Cant help but feel that thru a 11yr journey (for me ) that Its got worse & is coming to a sad end - They are not gonna go out with a bang![]()
I care about all the great builders who stopped building, whether because the game drove them off or because the game drove off so many people who made building feel worthwhile. I care about all those great builders who never started building, whether because they were driven away by the problems or because RL sabotaged TC so extensively.Originally Posted by LIONDEN1 Go to original post
I'm glad for the people who still build good tracks, and for the players who dredge TC for good builds, but we have lost so much that we probably won't see come back and it severely devalues the game. That affects us now, looking for tracks to play, and affects us in the future as RL decides how much it's worth keeping the TC servers and data storage running. They rather unceremoniously pulled the plug on PC's Evo TC, and everything was just lost.one day except what some players happened to have downloaded to share outside the game, and Rising doesn't even work as well with downloads, since it deletes them behind your back and doesn't let you access them properly. Things are going to be really annoying when Rising's TC shuts down, and that's assuming someone goes to the trouble to figure out how to maintain an external archive of downloads. Not saying the sky is falling, of course, but we can all see how little value Rising is producing and TC is an ever-increasing server burden. That's going to tip eventually and the obvious consequences of flushing their series down the toilet will be a big factor.
I never saw more than one person in MP, if even that, but I haven't checked recently. I don't personally care about MP, at least not unless they start letting approved TC tracks in. Doesn't seem like Rising is going to be that game though. Not this year at least.
I think they know they screwed up with the TC lay out. They will get it right in time, to many other issues they're dealing with. TC is what keeps the game going, especially when they stop making DLC for the game. Kept fusion alive for a long time. MP is good on Xbox, it doesnt exist on the Switch though, not sure about PC and PS4.
The layout is and was a pretty small aspect of TC's problems. Frankly, I don't see a willingness to get it right in time. I barely even see anything that passes for concern about it. I see lackadaisical baby steps that sometimes move in the direction of "less bad".
I agree TC is what keeps the game going, but I'm honestly doubtful that RL actually wants TC to be what it was in Evo or Fusion. They have gone out of their way to hold it back. It's totally different from Fusion where they took Evo's half-baked TC and tried (badly and without vision, but they did try) to make it a bigger aspect of the game. Rising's TC is an unimportant sideshow by design and has languished and driven away players and builders from the outset. What's more, that was so obvious, no one could make it and expect anything else.
I don't know why. Maybe because they want to monetize content mobile-style, and TC obviously devalues that. Maybe they are just the types who don't actually like their game being about other people's work (and RL's mediocre Fusion tracks were definitely surpassed by the community). It's hard for me to guess, because I'd love working on a game that was just a framework for the kind of community building we have here. The framework is the easiest part and you can really focus on making it exciting, and then the community just pours value into your game. A TC-oriented Trials could be so frikkin amazing... It pains me to watch RL not just ignore their potential but actively try to hold TC back and direct players to stay in "their" parts of the game. A wise dev wouldn't even have a "their" part of the game at this point in the series.
Fusion was a mess its first year and they made it a lot better. I'll see how thing change after its first year then decide if they actually care about the game. I think the patches are going in the right direction so far. Biggest mistake and i've heard it from many top riders is having ninja on leader boards, 99% cant compete for over all score, skill games is also a game killer.
It does suck that things are in the state they are right now, but I'm hoping the creators want this game to be the best in the series. It's really unfortunate that a lot of companies have the "we'll just patch it later" mentality that seems to be going around these days. Back in the day games had to be right before going on sale, but not anymore. The most frustrating thing about all of this is dealing with the ubi support. Maybe one of the devs actually reads these forums and is trying to make things right, but that may be wishful thinking since my crashing problem seems to have found purgatory. I'll hold back my frustration until the next patch though while hoping these issues are being worked on. Maybe they'll get it right this time and players will return. It'd be nice to see enough ppl on the switch mp to have a full race. The most I've seen is 4 ppl, including me, and that was only a 1 time thing.
As far as tc goes, I really feel for you previous trials players. This is my first trials game, so I can't compare fusion to rising like you guys can, but I can agree that tc could be better. Luckily I haven't had the chance to really dive into it yet, so maybe it'll be fixed by the time I start getting tired of grinding the main tracks.
lionden, Thanks for the matches in switch mp last night (for me, not sure where you are). There's not many ppl on right now that make races that fun. I thought for sure my game would crash on the 2nd or 3rd match, but thankfully it didn't.![]()
Hey Forager, you're the first person i've found on MP in almost 2 weeks, I'm in central USA. Was 100 points away from Diamond and you totally screwed me on that, lmao. Hopefully more people start playing and not backing out on the switch, thats the biggest issue with switch players it seems. I've learned the best way to keep them from backing out is letting them win one race, lol.
Hey, some constructive discussion, im suprised. For me TC splits is the killer atm. I can suffer through everything else pretty mindlessly, but not having splits, in a time based precision game, is beyond me. I do believe they will eventually incorporate it into TC tracks, but man the wait is killing me. Also, im with Lion. Ill give the game a year, and see where were at. We have moved forward a little so far, and if this new patch doesnt break anything, itll be one of the most important ones to date. Keeping my fingers crossed. P.s. Love all your TC builds Lion. Cant wait for the Team Race later this year![]()
