Hello everyone,
I am sorry to hear that this error code persists for some of you, but very glad to hear that several workarounds - such as that provided by Tsimdschdern - have allowed you to link your games to your Ubisoft Account! Here is that workaround again, for ease of access:
Please continue to test this workaround, as well as ensure that the country listed on both your Epic and Ubisoft Accounts match, as well as your physical location. They will all need to be the same.Originally Posted by Tsimdschdern
We are able to assist with updating the country listed on your Ubisoft Account if it is incorrect, however, Epic Games will need to provide support to you to make any changes to your Epic Account.
If you need our assistance, please reach out to us in any of the following ways for one-on-one assistance in private:
- Support Case
- Live Chat
- Twitter PM
If your countries on both accounts and your physical location all match, and you continue to experience issues, please provide us with images of the following when contacting us privately through one of the above means:
- The game in your Epic Games library
- The country setting on your Epic Account
I had a look into all support cases mentioned since our last reply here, but as all are closed as resolved, I will assume that the issue is solved for those players from this thread. Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding. Please stay safe!![]()
Thanks for getting back to us.
If you need your account details changing, try reaching out to our Live-Chat support team, they should be able to assist with this.
Recently i wanted to play some For Honor and that required linking an Ubisoft Account to Epic Games.
I did that, and had to change countries on both accounts to match my physical location. After a long back and forth on both sides I set them to match where i live. It finally worked somehow.
Then I went to install the game and left it over night. In the morning when i wanted to play the "Install/ Launch" prompt was replaced AGAIN by the "Ubisoft login required" thing,
and when I try to link them again, by following all the workaround I used the previous nights, all I managed to do is get hit by the same damned error PI-UBI-01 102008
Altough I get hit by this error i can still just run the game, it doesnt start. I just get hit by a tab from Uplay asking me to activate a key for the game, which was not provided by Epic Games.
By further looking into FAQ-s and threads everyone seems to say "Just make sure all 3 locations match" which they do and to delete the webdata folder under appdata-EpicGamesLauncher-saved, login on both websites and then attempt linking again, but this just hits me with PI-UBI-01 102008
From my understanding this is a Ubisoft sided problem but the live chats are always full and it takes hours for someone to respons to my support ticket.
Ill just end with a question, are there any new methods to just make this error dissapear?
Hey JeParleRomano, thanks for replying to the thread.
I've checked the account you're posting from and can't see a copy of For Honor on it - as such, as a first question, have you checked that you are trying to run and play the game from the correct Ubisoft Account? If you're logged into the correct account in Uplay PC and can see the linked game in your library, can you please run through our connectivity troubleshooting to rule out any network issues as well?
Should you still encounter the PI-UBI-01 error after completing all of the steps above, please refer to my previous post in this thread and send us the requested information in a support case or via a Live Chat. If you struggle to connect with an agent, try at a later time, and if still struggling, send me a PM and I'll get a case created for you.![]()
