I Like It.
I Don't Like It.
That's a really good point, if it's as uninvasive as some have claimed, why is it in the game at all? One youtuber said the stats mostly effect fights against bullet spongy drones... Which I find completely off-putting as I don't want robot enemies either.Originally Posted by DanHibikiFanXM Go to original post
That's probably the best way to describe it. Some people regard anything that isn't dislike as like, but something as subjective as a game play element doesn't fit into such a simple framework. Particularly when the overall experience is the sum of them all.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
I will tolerate some aspects of the game that I don't like, particularly if they are superficial to the experience. I don't know with the levelling yet - my tolerance that is, because I'm 100% certain I dislike it - as I have found it relatively unobtrusive to the gameplay. That has been in short bursts, though, and that tolerance could well wear very thin after a few weeks. Dan and others make the very valid point, that I agree with, that if the levelling is diluted down to a tolerable amount then why even bother, and this is the angle we should use in our feedback. Why have it? It doesn't add anything to those who will tolerate it, but takes away a huge amount from those who can't.
I've got myself lined up this weekend to put some feedback together after collecting my thoughts. The main focus being what could be changed. That means I'm going to have to accept a levelling system will exist, but what could be done to minimise the damage felt by a lot of GR fans? Can it be reworked to something acceptable? At the moment I can't see how, but it is possible there is a way to make it less of an obstacle. My fear is the levelling system is built into the DNA of the game going forward and if that is the case, we don't know yet, then I don't hold out much hope it will be improved at all.
Looting enemies and camps for weapons, ammo and other supplies like in for example stalker is fine. Any RPG type looting has no place in shooter game especially "tactical military shooter". Speaking of RPG, only rpg mechanic in this type of game should bee story and world progression all character exp perks and other nonsense is unnecessary grind. Only real rpg that players use is weapon and character customization to play like spetsnaz, seal, swat or storm trooper and only thing needed for that is lot of different and authentic gear pieces.
Yeah, I already submitted my "likes & dislikes" in the OTT forum although it got buried within a day. ....not sure if they will even see it but I took the notes and provided my feedback so it is what it is.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
The beta will be the deciding factor for me assuming I get invited since I had to register (I refuse to preorder at this point). As it is, few things in GRB have made me really think "that's really cool" in what I've seen so far. .....but on the other hand, there's been plenty that has made me have the opposite reaction.
I guess for me it boils down to GRB seeming like much more of a compromise than what I may care to make at this point.
Yeah, hopefully they change some of the awful mechanics by then...Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
I think what people are overlooking with the loot system, is how it translates into Ubisoft making more money. You have to understand, that making added revenue is their top priority. As a result, it sounds to me like a lot of people might be very surprised by how little customization they have at the start of the game... which makes sense if their priority is to make more money... getting people to buy cosmetics rather than grind them out in the early game is the way to go. How many people think that all the Crye gear is going to be free? or NVGs? One thing they learned from Wildlands is that players will spend $10-$20 of real money on a gun, a vest, or a shirt with rolled up sleeves.
The loot system allows them to claim that you can get cosmetics in the game, while making it tedious enough to ensure most people just say screw-it and pull out their wallets to get their desired gear.
I'm not overlooking it, I expect it to be similar to Wildlands. I won't be spending anything on cosmetics, it's irrelevant to me what I'm dressed in and what I get through playing the game is just whatever comes my way. I think it's a mindset thing and I'm not criticising anybody, because I know this aspect is far more important to some of you guys, but if I ever find myself playing the game just to get an item to wear to play the game some more then I'll have to re-evaluate why I'm even playing it at all.

RNG for game mechanics: How badly RNG affects getting guns or attachments ect. While they may be edge cases and outliers what happens with the sniper that never gets a sniper rifle to drop, or the assaulter that is on level 200 and hasn't seen an assault rifle drop since level 5? RNG loot for game necessary items has driven me away from many a game.
RNG for cosmetics: This bothers me somewhat as I enjoy role playing my character some. However, I'm willing to roll with the punches here a bit, and if it really does mean that much to me I might buy some of the DLC. Though, I have to say that after we were promised that character customization would be better than it was in Wildlands, I think there will be a lot of disappointed people if on launch day it looks like TD2.
For me it is very strange if I am not able to take the weapon of a downed enemy, but I can find weapons with different colors and levels in varying places....
A gun is a gun, you can add attachments to it to fit a certain purpose, and that is perfectly normal, but the leveling system makes no sense to me.
Loot system in GR is nonsense.
Drones were stupid idea from the start.
It is there only to justify sponge enemies.
Drones can be used it the big ones are immune to bullets and can only be destroyed by explosives. And there should be no health bar...
This game is too close to release so there will be no changes. Player HUB is also totally ******ed idea.
I am not buying this for sure. I will just follow the game to see how it ended up.
I want quality games. Not this new trend of RPG...
