Orochi's side dodge+light hits you even if you back dodge

I dodged back with a shaman, and the Orochi dodged to his left and light attacked. The move that was supposed to evade attacks and at the same time punish sidesteps yet it still hit my dear back-stepping shammy.

Tell me that this is a bug and not a lazy attempt to boost a class without putting actual effort into it.

Some attacks have the property that they track dodges. Orochi dodge attacks is an example of this.

You're going to have to learn to parry (or block) them and when you've done that, Orochi's will be much more wary of performing the attack at random.

You tried to dodge an undodgable attack, the outcome is totally intended. That move might be the easiest light parry in the game though.

I know about parrying, thnx btw , actually the only weak point of that dodge-attack is you can't cancel it, it s a full commit.

But still, the move is a defensive "punish" and it should not be punishing a defensive move that does not even attack.
it behaves like a move that beats all four directions and weak against "turtling". So much for rewarding agression...

Parrying Orochi dodge attacks are basically like taking candy from children. You're going to have to learn to adapt your playstyle depending to what hero you face, and even further up the skill brackets, to the player you play against, and I don't mean that in a patronising way at all.

The game just did award aggression, you dodged and got hit by your aggressor. It doesn't matter that the dodge attacks isn't supposed to be an offensive move, but its telling me that the opponent you faced aren't a veteran of the game if he performed it just like that out of the blue.
