I do not understand the fact that the UK is the BEST Air country, yet you FORCE the player to RESEARCH The Unit BEFORE we can use it, and THEN Research AGAIN to upgrade the UNIT.
This is ridiculous...HOW do you expect a British player to not get rolled with this?
By the time I Research bombers, the opponent can have AA all over...and by the time my Lancaster is upgraded there is no point to even MAKE ONE because their base is so filled with AA you are screwed.
The Americans get Fighters and Bombers instantly...yet the Brits are superior to air? All the USA player needs to do is make an airfield and pump out fighters and my bombers are useless and so are my FBs.
WHY did you take the BEST thing about the country and RUIN it with Research times? If that ONE thing is the countries best form of offense...then WHY would they need to RESEARCH IT!?
Make BRITISH Air ALL NON-RESEARCH...the USA player has a better chance to BOMB ME early game, than I have...and IT'S MY BEST WEAPON!?
Britain Vs USA Example:
Both make Airfields and they both use camo-net.
Britain makes FBs and USA makes Fighters and Bombers and both make recon.
Oh look...USA can make 1 Recon Plane 4 Fighters and 2 Bombers right away...and Britain can make 1 recon and 5 fighter bombers.
So...the SUPERIOR UK can actually make the SAME amount of planes...but the USA can BOMB the British player and kill his airfield...
So PLEASE tell me HOW the British player's best weapon is the AIR when he/she has to RESEARCH EVERYTHING. By the time the research is done...the opponent has so much AA you can't even touch them so I might as well NEVER build a Airfield when using the British, which then defeats the purpose of EVER selecting them...
Fix this issue NOW...because you have completely taken away the use of the British. Especially against the already amazing USA.
Erm, you start off with Hurricanes, a fighter bomber capable of shooting down other fighters (WITH LITERAL EASE, ITS WTF GOOD AT IT). If the UK didn't have to research their FAR SUPERIOR air power, they'd be overpowered. Everyone would play GB and go air, gg. Theres nothing wrong with the fact that you have to research, it prevents the country from being overpowered. If your opponent is getting bombers that means you'll have the edge with your fighters, and don't let him get near your airfield to bomb it. Camo net to hide your airfield from view and use hurricanes to harass building trucks while you tech up to lancasters god forbid you want them. The general point is the nation itself is fine, you need more experience playing them. EUGEN never said you HAD to absolutely use lancasters for bombing purposes, use wellingtons. No opponent is going to give you enough downtime to fiddle with your tech tree.
Even if the british is the most powerful air nation by far, that does not mean they should be able to do every air tactic possible.
If you want to heavy bomber rush, then russia is your nation. The british has far better bombers, but they need to be upgraded and comes therefore later into play.
Note that the british figther bomber rush is far more effective anyway because of its speed. You can easily take out several construction trucks before the opponent is able to respond
^As I just wrote in another thread, british is not only an air nation. They have both the Firefly and the AVRE, which are the best tank destroyers and assault guns in the game respectively.
So you can say that the british is a counter nation. Yes, their tanks and conventional AT/artillery is bad, but their counters to tanks, AT and infantry are the best in the game.
Sure, you have to put up a proto base to get some of the good stuff, but until then FB`s have your back against ground assaults.
I mostly only play UK, in teams and as solo nation and I can tell you that the FBs are your best weapon in the beginning, harassing the opponent or forcing him to gon on airfield.
The armoured recon is still very strong and can take even one on one on medium tanks.
Firefly is the best TD in game although researching it costs alot.
And the prototype base offers a strong heavy tank, an excellent mobile artillery and - after researching - an also excellent mobile AA unit.
Pushing can be done with paras early game (in 1on1 or 2on2) and is still a strong option to use.
Me as UK player would say that the nerfs were ok regarding balance of the game because brits were too stron in the betas.
Good job in balancing from my point of view.
Paratroopers are amazing in the early game. Don't try for a dumb base rush. Set them around the various supply dumps to harass trucks and force your opponent to chase you all over the map with scout cars.
The Cromwell is one of the best medium tanks in the game and has THE best combination of speed and durability. It's ridiculously fast.
