Guess that explains why they've dropped the ball on supporting YourShape. Oddly, no announcement for a 360 version. Probably has a longer dev time to work with Kinect.

Offering Six Ways to Get Fit with Cardio, Balance, Upper Body Strength, Lower Body Strength, Core Strength and Flexibility

SAN FRANCISCO–January 18, 2011- Today Ubisoft announces Fit in Six™, a new fitness game for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system which also utilizes PlayStation®Move functionality and for the Wii™ system from Nintendo which leverages Ubisoft’s USB camera accessory. Developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte studio in Düsseldorf, Germany, the game separates overall fitness routines into six core elements — core body, upper body, lower body, cardio, balance and flexibility — that help you focus on getting fit and reaching your goals. The workouts have been developed by experienced fitness professionals to ensure that every move is performed precisely and effectively. Fit in Six™ will be available in March 2011.

For the Wii system the USB camera will provide a picture-in-picture view that enables players to compare their own movements to the in-game coach for a more accurate replication of exercises. Fit in Six™ is offered in a bundle package with the Wii-compatible USB camera; the game will also be sold separately.

For the PlayStation®3 system players can upload music to their PS3™and perform workouts to the beat of their favorite songs. The PS3™ analyzes your playlist and suggests the music that suits the right rhythm for each workout.

Fit in Six™ also offers new add-on content available on PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 system to refresh and enhance players’ workout experiences. The complete content including add-ons for Fit in Six™ adds up to 23 – 24 hours of workout time and include personalized workouts, dance-related fitness programs and a variety of cardio and toning exercises to expand the overall gameplay experience.

Well, looking at the trailer I have mixed feelings about this. The exercises themselves don't seem to be any different or better than what YSFE has or could easily add by DLC. And I think dumbbells are way more effective for strength training than Move controllers

Also, the trailer seems to suggest the player is really immersed in the application, exercising alongside the trainer as in YSFE - how they're going to do that on those platforms will be interesting to see.

However, the product seems to offer a lot of the issues that have come up here or on Amazon many times, like customizable workouts, stretching, playing your own music etc. I would be *VERY* annoye, if Ubisoft realized those for Kinect in a new product rather than in YSFE itself.

So, bottom line: Probably nice product for Wii and PS3. But guys, don't even think about getting that out for Kinect before fixing YSFE - you would certainly loose many customers (me included)...

I just realized that the trailer I was referring to is on the German Ubisoft site (I couldn't find it on the US one), so here is the link:
