    Shotguns in pvp

I'm actually not complaining, but I'm relatively happy with the change made to shotguns in update 5. They are a bit more balanced and not too bad in pve now. Before anyone posts, "Well I still get wrecked so they are still broken." I argue that they are strong up close and they should be, they're shotguns. The double barrel premeditated combo is still lethal, but you actually have to build for it now. In update 4, it didn't matter what you wore you could still kill someone easily with a premeditated double barrel, even if you were a full blown tank with 0 reds and no China's light and no points in shotguns in the specialization tree. Now you NEED those things to still do viable damage and that, after all, seems fair. I still don't see nearly as many people complaining about the LMG hipfire strategy or the headshot custom p416/ eagle bearer build as I see complaints about shotguns. At least before you could fight those guys with a double barrel regardless of build and still have a chance. Now, if you're using a shotgun in pvp that kind of damage does not come easily.

Personally, I finished a shotgun build about 2 weeks ago. 2 China's light, neither have red on them, compensated gloves, weapon damage on chest and pack and a mod on my airaldi holster for a little extra kick (1.5 awd, 5 shotgun, 1 armor). So yeah, my shotguns hit hard. Doesn't make me or shotguns in general overpowered, I just built for it. Besides, all weapons in pvp just got a boost as well as skills so now there are counters to shotguns, you just have to be willing to build that way.

I can't tell if this is trolling or if it's serious....

Anyhow shotgun is overpowered because you "sorta" don't need to put anything into it.

All you need is like 300-350k armor and then put on premeditated. It is easy to get since you don't need to stack for any reds nor yellows, however you can always put on yellows just to up your skills like deflector drone and firefly for some blinding effect for the enemy you're running at.

Every other weapon build you need to put something into reds or specialization damage for the weapon to actually make some proper damage and you also need to balance this with armor makiing it very hard to have good armor near 300-350k. And you might want to make something with yellows but then you need to sacrice damage.................

The only other way to go if you sacrafice that damage is a pulse build and you can just hope you have enough damage during that pulse.

However this is just my opinion.

I wounder how long it will take the developers to figure out that my double barrel should be doing around 58k according to the tu5 patch notes.

Regarding its harder to get in range i would say thats working as intended since that is your weakness.
Stacking armor and unbreakable with shotgun in tu4 you could pretty much ignore damage and more or less the only reason you didnt get a kill with double barrel was if you ****ed up.

I haven't seen shotguns in the DZ since TU5 but the problem was is this is not counterstrike where 3 or 4 bullets from an AR would kill someone. Shotty users (I have a build myself) can pop a defender drone and run in and get close very easily. How to balance that, I dont know because you are right, shotguns should be good close range.

I do wish they would properly test there updates in both PVE and PVP so we don't have all these problems go on for months before fixing.
