you have to do a project called Tidal Basin Stronghold " goal Project " even though ive done tidal basin several times i have to do it again to get the upgrade

That's not making sense either, where is that project?
Can we have a Mod tell us how to upgrade the bench to 500 please

I have the same issue, I press 'square' to upgrade. It then takes me to my inventory screen where I can select a piece of equipment. But on the next screen where you should select a weapon it only gives me the option to craft one. Doing so will craft a weapon I already have and there is no upgrade.

Will try Tidal Basin mission tonight.

I am pretty sure you are just getting confused, because it is confusing.. When you go to upgrade your bench, it will not give any indication that anything happened or prompt you, and it simply pulls up a list of gear items in your inventory which are possible candidates for which you will give to upgrade the bench. You have to give a couple of items. Then it gives you the "upgrade bench" option.

I suppose if you don't have any items that are candidates in your inventory, perhaps it brings up the crafting menu so that you can craft what is needed.

First somehow you get the “blueprint” then go to your bench and select upgrade by pressing x. Next you need to select a gear piece and weapon of 490 and above and I think the button is craft. Once you do those steps the bench will upgrade.

Some have said you get the blueprint from tidal basin but I didn’t get mine from tidal basin and couldn’t tell where I found mine.

Lastly, iirc I believe there is a bug that isn’t letting some upgrade.

If I remember correctly the Crafting Station had 2 upgrades. Once upon a time somewhere between WT 1 and WT 5. Didn't we have to upgrade it and then now with The Update, we do that again sacrificing a gear piece and a weapon.

Last night talking with 2 players they was talking about they needed to upgrade and all it would do was have them craft a new gear piece. I pointed out that they had sacrifice that piece and the weapon. They did that and all was good. They then discussing when they upgraded it before.

We just used to go to the bench and it told you to upgrade it, we pressed a button and that was that.

To upgrade the bench to 500 you have to donate a gear piece and a weapon.

Eskimo:
1. Walk up to bench (does it give option to upgrade by holding “x for Xbox”)?

2. Once you hold upgrade a screen will pop up contain you backpack inventory.

3. Select a gear piece 490 or above then select a weapon 490 and above. Now I believe the command is craft. Once you do this your bench is upgraded.

If you initially walk up to the bench and do not see option to upgrade you either a- need blueprint b- one of the many with the upgrade bug
