Yeah this is going to be a terrible event. I see the other theme cards were lazily chosen. I’ve noticed a trend in the 24 hour events that Friar Jimmy is always the mystic card when they’re just throwing something together that doesn’t involve that theme. So shocking to see he’s the mystic representative for this event
Yeah, I haven't faced a single opponent yet who's using the superhero theme, since the event started. I am not using it either, I'm just running a +4 deck instead. It'll take more wins to finish, but at least I'll get the wins. The superhero cards are pathetic at low levels, and can't stand against opponents in legendary. I'm not risking dropping out of legendary for this event. I'm currently in line for the arena 12 end of season reward (season high of 6573), and don't want to risk losing that prize just to get higher point wins on the few wins I manage to scrounge up using those cards.Originally Posted by Cornered_Pony Go to original post
I nice event would have been one where you can boost Super Hero cards with cards from other themes. But no, RL rather likes to make me play lvl3 epics in 6500+ legendary arena. But my strategy is easy. Make a 9 point deck, put on a movie and start matches in search of derankers. I've reached 7000+ ELO already so I can't drop out of legendary anyway. To all you legendary players who haven't reached 6700+ ELO yet, my condolences.
The most generous (and accurate) way to put it is that the superhero theme is not ready for prime time yet.
It won't be until the other half of the cards is released and the opportunity is given to give all of the cards in this theme a significant boost.
Protip: make a deck with Marcus, the Rats, and two of the other cards as you see fit to themes that you play in the strongest fashion (I have chosen Randy and Butters myself). Then at least you are looking at only having to get 25 wins..
Exactly what I've done. Not the same cards, but the same idea, going with a 4 point deck.Originally Posted by ahmerali222 Go to original post
Unfortunately, most players think the same and don't dare to play the new cards and that's so overly boring and annoying. I've only had one opponent in about 20 games who's dared to play the superheroes even though they weren't high level. My gosh, it's a game and you should gamble a little bit and not just take it seriously so you don't get down in the ranks. it would be so much more fun if everyone didn't take the game too seriously...Originally Posted by Cural42 Go to original post
That' s frustrating and not that a few f2p players are wiping everything out. The majority of the community ****s their pants brutally instead of risking anything and having fun.
Don't want to offend anyone, but that really had to be said!
If they wanted more people to use the superheroes in the event, they could have given some incentive to do so. The reason most people went the way I did was because they had no other options outside of using superheroes. Just because I decided to be prudent doesn't mean I take the game too seriously. There is an element of strategy built into this game, and my decision was strategic. Regardless of what the game is, most people play to win, and that doesn't mean they are taking it too seriously. Doesn't matter whether it's a video game, a board game, or a simple game of tag among kids. It is normal for a person to try to win when they play a game, and if it is a strategic game, then they will make decisions that fit their own strategy.Originally Posted by TheRiddlerOne Go to original post
As for myself, I have earned everything I've gotten in this game through my own efforts, not from a credit card, so excuse me if I want to earn the arena 12 prize at the end of the season for my first time ever, which is quite a feat for someone who is FTP, and not something I'm going to throw away just because the event cards are mostly superheroes.
Just because you'd rather lose SR to play with the superheroes doesn't mean everybody else has to, as well. You can't tell someone else how much they should risk. It would be like telling a poker player they should go all-in each time, just to take a risk. As it happens, I do take risks in this game. I just don't take the stupid ones.
