Personally, I'll mute someone if they attempt a good number of times to engage me with trash talking online. I don't mind getting the odd bit of hate mail, it makes me laugh but to be honest you've got to think, if someone is the type of person to send abuse in chat etc, they're also likely to report you if you do it to them. My advice, simply don't engage in severe trash talk. Yes the game is rated 18+ but at the same time that doesn't give anyone the right to be abusive to other players.
