I keep hearing this argument that "MaVeRIck Has NO CoUnteRS" when even if you have a DECENT Cav, or pulse, or literally any roamer, you can kill Maverick easily, it also depends on the map, and site that has been presented. But yah, yeah your right, He's op. "Lets completely ruin him!"
Have you played test servers? Have you seen the nerf in game ?

Why are you so aggressive? I didn't even mention you.

What I was saying, is that I think nearly every operator that was released with an update was later nerfed. It's fairly typical of games over the last 10 years or more to release overpowered, flavour-of-the-month stuff and then nerf it. It probably comes from MMOs where all this monetisation of in-game items started. Or maybe the people who make the games think it's just a way of stirring things up a bit. I hate it. I would rather everything was either balanced or slightly underpowered. But there is also a theory that by releasing updates with overpowered items that it makes it more appealing to purchase. It seems so unbelievably obvious to me and others but it annoys a lot of people to say it hence my sarcastic comment.

The new rogue 9 video about the changes in the test server illustrate my point about Maverick all along. The problem isn't the torch, it's the sound design. It's honestly dangerous waters in my opinion you start changing operators based on broken game mechanics.

Like so many aspects of Siege, Mav's torch noise adjustment was a decision made to allow the developers to avoid having to do any actual work.

The problem with Mav is not a problem with the audio of his torch. The problem is the terrible underlying sound design which occludes when it shouldn't, magnifies when it shouldn't, and otherwise is a lousy pile of crap programmed by either the lazy or the incompetent.

Now - repairing the underpinning sound design of the game is what Ubisoft should do. But that would require actual commitment, a well-planned approach, proper allocation of resources, and monetary support. I.E. it would require ACTUAL WORK.

And since Ubisoft doesn't want to do Actual Work....? We get a lame, half-baked, lazy band-aid 'fix' that tweaks the volume of Mav's torch rather than the actual work that would benefit the entire game. Yay! Now - off to make more Pink Unicorn skins and Cowboy hats!

Whether it's hit registration, hacking, cheating, exploits, trolling, or whatever ... the vast majority of the game's problems center on the core game's sloppy programming, bad fundamental code, and other baseline level issues that Ubisoft is determined to ignore in favor of just doing a few lazy slapdash, sloppy, half-measures. Ubi needs to put Siege in drydock for a while and fix the actual problems with the game rather than just slapping on spackle and paint.

    It needed to be louder..
Even prior to the changes he could sneak up behind you in the midst of a gunfight and torch a small hole killing you and you wouldn't even know until it was too late.
The sound in this game isn't that great to start with honestly the positional audio needs some tweaking.

That's a much more in depth and better worded answer of what I'm saying. Fix the core issues, and you'll have to change the operators less.
