Please give us back mutants, i though mutants will return back in some farcry, but no, you give us to fight some human gang really ? I love FarCry 1 idea of secret island, where scientists do illegal research to create perfect mutant soldiers and you by coindidence get bump into that. This game was so cool. God new games sucks, it is not only farcry, i love all old games, like fear, half-life 2, but no new games.
Please next farcry has to have some epic story and mutants in it. Or farcry 1 remaster POG !!!
Far Cry is trying to be more or less realistic but mutants......difficult question!
In postapocalyptic Far Cry mutants will be totally on point. Fast, strong and scary enemy, high-quality animated, always welcome in shooters. But in more or less realistic game...I don't think so.
In realistic game every enemy human ( without mutations) can be deadly dangerous - 1 bullet in your head and you are dead, 2-3 bullets in the body.
Frankly speaking, I want one more Far Cry as postapocalyptic game. Only next time without Pink coloring.
I think pink coloring of New Dawn was mistake of Far Cry developers! Their art directors.
It was mistake of Rage 2 also.
They must be wanted to attract more females with that coloring....But the thing that works in one case may not work in the other. Something that works with Fortnite doesn't work with Far Cry!
Imitating other games or their stylistics developers always should keep it in mind.
It reminds me one Jack London story....Once, one inuit killed a european, during the Northern Lands development. He was caught. First inuit europeans captured. He was treated very well. He was even sent to meet the Queen. He was taken everywhere as an important guest, dinner parties, scientific conferences.... great attention and honor. Then he was released with multiple gifts.
After returning home he told about far away countries and how people met him. One of his fellow tribesman was listening him.....listening....and decided also to kill a european. "I'll kill a european and also will be treated as an important guest in far away countries and then will return as a hero with even more multiple gifts!". He killed a european. But was caught and hanged.
They did the same thing. But what worked in first case didn't work in the second.
And when noose was put around his neck he was at a loss - "Why? What for?"
Far Cry New Dawn is very good game. Many people sure that even better than Far Cry 5. And definitely better than Rage 2!
But developers shot themselves in the leg with pink colorization! (So did Rage 2 developers)
Gamers in the majority (especially who like games like Far Cry) hate Fortnite.
Fortnite itself may be rather popular....but only not among those who prefer Far Cry type games.
And this little feature hasn't be taken into account. Little - but important! It was mistake.
It pushed away gamers in advance!
Even without starting to play gamers were already set against the game.
Youtube was full of "anti-New Dawn" comments before the game was released. People were incited against the game. They were already incited. Before trying the game.
And it was very bad for the game. It always must be avoided.
"Pinky postapocalypse" played its negative role. As with New Dawn so with Rage 2.
I'm sure if the game was just green, super vegetation devouring all around ( without pinky super bloom) the estimates and sales would be higher!
People like "The Last of Us" style vegetation. Or desert, "Mad Max" style.
New Dawn is very good game but making it pinky developers shot themselves in the leg.
It tells about one thing, Far Cry art directors don't feel the audience!
They should feel what people will like and what people won't like - in the majority. Game is developing for the majority. Not for exquisite individualities.
Feature that worked with Fortnite didn't work with New Dawn.
In the future it should be taken into account.
Otherwise it is always possible to find yourself in the place of that unfortunate man - "Why? What for?"
Returning to the mutants....I'm not against to see them in one more postapocalyptic Far Cry in the future!
