Thanks Ubi, it's been fun. Time to say good bye

I've enjoyed this game since the beta. I got the gold version without thinking twice after trying it. I thank you for creating such a unique game, some times I've been a biitch in this forum demanding changes in a rude way, and I have to apologize about that. Now, I think I understand the game mechanics very well and the direction it's taking also, and I won't ever agree with most of it:
    1. HA.- Cheap mechanic IMO. You don't know how to trade? No problem, use any heroe with it and throw heavies. Free execution included.
    2. Unblockables.- Easiest way to force a move in your opponent, but very unfair for the heroes who don't have any unblockables. Wanna win in a group fight but have no skill? Just throw an unblockable and lock a different opponent. If timed correctly, everyone will eat it without being able to parry it. Half life gone for small assassins (oh poor assasisns..).
3.- Light/bash/kicks spam.- Rep 70 orochis doing nothing but 3 lights chains, BPs spamming shield bash without being punished, Hito spamming kick feint into GB, Shugos spamming hugs. My point here is that I can deal with that kind of spamming players, is just that I don't enjoy playing the way I need to play to beat them.
    4. Bad state of balance.- Ubi always got into the hype of adding new 'cool' heroes without caring about the impact on the general fight mechanics health. JJ is faster than some assassins, but deals huge damage. Shaman jumping longer than an Olympic champion. Nuxia's traps, really? There are heroes that got nothing compared to others. Put a PK to fight a Shugo or Raider... the amount of work she needs to put against them is abysmal, but one mistake and half of her life is gone.

Due to all this, I'm sure it won't get better. In fact I really believe it will continue this way and is just not good for me anymore.

I miss the old FH honestly. This used to be my favorite game and now is the opposite. I know I won't have any fun most of the time during a 4v4 or 1v1. People is just abusing cheap mechanics and only using the same overtuned heroes. Ranked is only about raiders, shugos, hitos, BPs, LB and JJs.

Anyway, it's been a long way and got to say THANK YOU. I know working in this game project has been a whole adventure for you guys, and it's never easy to improve it. I'm sorry for the times I dropped my frustration here. Cheers!

Just don't take it too seriously. I went from full tryhard to full casual and im having fun again. Yes, it's unbalanced, people use cheap tactics, matchmaking is very unbalanced. But it's still fun for me, because i actually stopped trying to win.

you are correct that it will never get better, if you can't just take this game for what it is then yes moving on is the best thing

Take a break, I did - hence my last posts at the start of this season were some incoherent gibberish (although i was right about the shugo/sakura HA shenanigans!).

Play the game only when you want to and only for as long as its fun (this might be only a single duel) - also remember when it comes to balance decisions for this game expect the worst and everything is a pleasant surprise - i'm assuming the newest character will shoot lightning from their eyes for instant kill ranged attacks. Hopefully i'm wrong and whatever comes out wont be so bad

you're so right man, I still play the game and enjoy it casually, but for serious gaming, I generally disagree with the direction game is taking and the fact that we're powerless to change things, I feel like all we are are cash cows for the company and they don't really care about bslance and the game itself much. Keeping shareholders happy is good enough.

Game has been spiraling down hill since early last year, TBH if things keep up this way the player base will be gone soon enough.

Devs stopped caring a long time ago about the community, the Community Test Enviroment exists, yet they never use it, they rather yeet a broken hero on us, let the game fall apart for a month then fix it because another broken hero came out in the next season, all hope I had left for For Honor left some time ago, it's just another video game for me now, it's fun now and then but the game's days are numbered, they wanted it to be like Siege and keep expanding, but every time they try something new it sucks or is broken.

Just look at breach, it was a game changing mode when they where talking about it, now the only less played mode is tribute, because Breach has not gotten updated since launch.

Agreed. Whenever this game pisses me off I take a few weeks or a month off from it. Does wonders.

Old fh was absolute cancer, turtle haven and parries got you guardbreaks which meant that shugoki could instantly kill you from a parry if he was at low health.
Coupled with the slow lights,It was absolutely horrendous game design and the only reason anybody enjoyed it was because nobody had any idea what to do.

I haven't quite said goodbye to the game, but around Hitokiri release I drastically reduced my time playing it. I personally don't care too much about the balancing and the finer mechanics, I just want to kick some AI *** with my awesome looking heroes and get them to look more awesome in the process. But there's just too little going on to keep my interest after all this time.

Out of the last 6 released heroes I enjoyed playing/leveling exactly one (Black Prior). Breach is more of a chore than a fun mode, Arcade is even worse. New maps are a mixed bag, or missing entirely in case of Breach. The Faction War is mostly a question of 'how soon will the Viking win be achieved this season?', so... whatever. I used to have enough steel for everything I wanted from playing regularly, but playing less now means I probably haven't got the steel when there's actually cool new stuff, which cuts into the motivation even further. I have around 200 Scavenger crates because I can't figure out what to do with them.

I have to say that I'm rather happy For Honor exists, and that overall I had blast with it since the Open Beta. So thanks for that! I'll drop back in once in a while to do the Dailys and maybe some other, easy to do stuff with my two favourite heroes, but that's mostly it. The last chance, I guess, to really draw me back in might be the upcoming Hammer-Viking.
