Do you get an impression that Far Cry 2 was increasingly dumbed up, graphics wise, physics wise and gameplay wise just because it is being developed for simultaneous release on PC and consoles, so that its PC version is leveled down with obsolete consoles?
Think about it, if this happened to Crysis it wouldn't be Crysis as we know it...
The answer is a big, huge NOPE. Reason being, I've followed this game back since early 2007, when it was still PC-exclusive, and seen all the leaked gameplay footage (all PC videos, and without console versions even existing yet). Comparing the old pre-alpha footage, it basically looks exactly the same gameplay-wise as it does now, and I personally think it looks even BETTER, graphics-wise, now than it did before. Physics-wise, it looks like a wash.Originally posted by gettrux:

Let's face the facts, the console ports didn't change the game ONE IOTA. Stop trying to irrationally and baselessly bash consoles or try to start a flamewar. The facts and evidence just don't support the same, tired argument by some people

Well, I along with all the SERIOUS gamers, am p***ed off that this means a reduction of overall quality...bloody obsolete consoles..
You dont know that is the case.
Wait and see what the PC game is like before complaining.
Comments like that are hardly likely to stop a flame war are they...?Stop trying to irrationally and baselessly bash consoles or try to start a flamewar. The facts and evidence just don't support the same, tired argument by PC fans.
Pack it in please folks....
We could argue this point (red) for as long as I live and we couldn't agree on. Now, the point in yellow is another life timeOriginally posted by IVlatty:
Consoles increase their profites three-fold, which allows them to hire more programmers or create more advanced software, which lead to better games.
I do agree with the Console profits increasing 3-fold.

I lost the bet with myself![]()
Ford vs Chevy
Alien vs Predator
Console vs PC
Anyone who has been keeping up with this game for PC within the past year knows the PC version was in development way before the console versions were even a thought. Nothing has been changed from the PC version to help consoles be able to play the game in any way. If you have an issue it's with the PC version itself.
As far as sales, take it from Crysis, "No more exclusive games for PC". Why? Piracy. Plus if it isn't PC vs Console war post with some of you guys it's a gripe about Prone, Adding custom mods, features, or some issue with Ubi's invision of the game.
I have no clue why PC gamers keep thinking Ubi is shafting them by making a console version. It insures future games & adds to the popularity of the series.
This is "not", and I repeat "not" Crytek developing FC2. Get over it.
