Hi,
Is there a reason why the first campaign DLC is locked behind such a high level of progression?
I don't mind repetition of content to a certain degree but on reaching WT1 and playing for a bit I found I did not want to repeat the content over and over on ever increasing difficulty levels so took a break to wait for the campaign content to drop.
The first two assignments were OK I guess but I was really looking forward to the major content and I read today that it's only available if you're on WT5.
Sadly I'm not driven to repeat content over and over for the best equipment so I think my wait was wasted![]()
While the mission locations might be the same as before the Invaded Black Tusk missions are not the same as the previous missions. And Tidal Basin is a very rough stronghold compared to the others.
It's also worth getting to WT5, if for no other reason than to get the best gear drops.
I reached WT5 but I didn't play this game 28 hours a day to do so because of the repetition.
My advice is:
play a few hours and advance maybe just 1 tier and then put the game away for a few days or a week or however long you choose not to play for and play something else, when you feel you just have to shoot some mofos put the game in and advance another tier or 2..
It took me about 6 weeks to get to WT5 and I found it more enjoyable this way rather than run through the game in a rush.
Agree with this comment, Massive do a nice job of mixing up the missions, sure after reaching WT5 it kind of gets a bit repetitive.Originally Posted by DarkKnight27us Go to original post
Is there a difference in content between WT0 and WT1 other than reskinned enemies with robots and new dialogue? I assumed that was all it was after I had done a few invaded missions and world events. Just for reference I am gearscore capped for WT1 just by playing what I enjoyed rather than trying for it so it's not like I got to WT1 and then stopped.Originally Posted by DarkKnight27us Go to original post
On moving to WT2 is there yet more new content or is it WT1 repeated? That again was my assumption so open to correction there if wrong.
I totally get why people go for the best gear but in all my games I care more about collecting mounts and pets (and occasionally cosmetics) than I do being the best so better drops doesn't entice me unfortunately. Increased challenge never really interested me either. I'm the casual who came in for the content.
That's actually how I play the game, as I did with Div1 and many other games. But I also lost the interest in shooting mofos, figuring I'll play other games until the DLC comes.Originally Posted by Dyslexic-Snail Go to original post
The info that the new DLC is coming has raised my interest but then I read that it was locked by WT5 and my interest took a dive.
I still curious to know why it was locked behind WT5 though. Campaign completion I can understand. If it required WT1 I would also understand as that would mean the player has done the stronghold for which the first DLC is the continuation. Maybe even WT2 to ensure the player knows about Black Tusk if that was necessary for the story at some point.
I am wondering if they are focussing the content on the players that have stuck around ignoring the fact that, at least for console based games, some players tend to play a game to a certain point and only return for DLC which is essentially what I am doing here. If this IS the case then I guess as this is free DLC rather than paid for, they aren't really losing revenue by alienating the potential returning players.
Take your feeling of repetitiveness in WT5, apply it to WT1 and that's where I am right now. I'll give it a try but the thought of what is required just to get to the content depresses me somewhat making the journey that much more laborious.Originally Posted by teado25 Go to original post
Thanks for the replies and positive reinforcment all.
When it comes to invaded missions not only do you have the new enemy types in Black Tusk they also change things like spawn points and in some cases how they use the maps (different entrances and exits open up with different objectives). I'll be honest the game only really got going for me at WT1, 0-30 felt like a sleepwalk.
Wait going up World tiers means we must do the campaign over and over? wtf.. Glad i stopped playing at level 16.. I thought it was repetitive then..Originally Posted by Tanaki Go to original post
It’s locked to WT5 because of story reasons you won’t get info on h til you complete Tidal Basin.
You have to replay certain main missions and strongholds that are held by Black Tusk. It’s more than just a simple redo of the mission though.Originally Posted by Dante-Yoda Go to original post
Wait....you're complaining you can't play the next level of content when you haven't reached the end of the current content? Do you not realize the insanity of that complaint? How you get there is a legit argument....yeah it can't seem repetitive....but the content that gets to WT5 is part of the story going into the new content....that is......insane.
